Picked up these two older pieces and finally got to roll.

Two impressions. Mercury long and slurvy with continuation.

Pluto a lot like my Sonic X solid but maybe even smother with the Orbiter 2 core.

Looking forward to compare to my never miss 1960s rubber ball on my local wet dry!

I had the mercury years ago and remember that I liked it but didn't keep it for very long. I recently picked up a venus and love it for light oil and spares. I've played straight up 5 to cranking 4th-5th arrow and make ten pin spares with this ball and it always amazes me how clean, controlling and still powerful this ball has been. Hand down one of my all time favorite piece I've had the pleasure of owning.
The harder I try the harder they fall

Six Pack,

Thanks for the great comments.

I have a Saturn which I believe is very similar in motion to the Mercury due to the original Orbiter core.

I may look for a Venus..upon reading the reviews while I also have a good feeling on the Mercury.  The Mercury I perceive as similar to my Sonic boom but with maybe a smoother slightly slower response cover than my highly polished bog move Boom.  I also have a flare enhancing weight hole past my Pap on my Sonic boom which I'd not needed on my local Wet dry kingdom house shot!  However the Boom shines on well oiled blends!

In addition I am quite impressed on first blush with my New to me Pluto.  The Orbiter II core wit it's higher density gravity band and lower differential looks like it all takes out severe wet /dry on a house shot. (Is that possible with a reactive?)

I'll know more when I convert it to lefty regarding if my initial impressions are valid on the lower flare Orbiter II core
Versus the original higher flare Orbiter core.

I always wanted a Venus or a Neptune. I feel like those balls would roll great on our beat up house shot

SV Star.

I see a good amount of difference between the move of the Orbiter and the Orbiter II.

Others with more speed or less side rotation maybe not as much difference will be noted.

Luckylefty
PS Higher flare Orbiter = Saturn, Venus, Mercury
Lowe flare Orbiter II =Pluto, Mars, Neptune.. I believe.

Billdozer, the Mars was in my opinion, a special ball; Wish I would of never got rid of it. Very similar motion of the Neptune.  :-\

Didn't toss roto at the time really. My first was the Cell, drilled perfectly for me too...hooked ever since on Utah.
