First off, I want to thank JohnP, a member on here for punching my Rogue up. Great guy.

In all honesty, this is the 2nd Roto-grip ball I have ever drilled and thrown. I had a cell pearl, and it was way too over/under.

The Rogue Cell is SOMETHING ELSE. There are NO words to describe this ball. There are no amounts of words to describe this ball.
If you gave me a 15 page essay on this ball, there is no way I could everything I have to say about it on 15 pages.

As long as you get this ball right (im a righty) of the headpin and left of the gutter SOMEWHERE down lane, it got to the pocket. That is sick. BUT, that is only half of what gets me. It f--king carries the world. It never missed the pocket, and when it hit te pocket, it carried 95%-99% of the time.
I personally am a ball whore. I have thrown hundereds of bowling balls. I have never seen anything like this before.

It OUTHOOKS my Virtual Gravity.
It OUTHOOKS my 2nd Dimension.
It OUTHOOKS any ball I have EVER thrown.
And yet it SLIDES FURTHER than my plastic  ball.

I know nobody will understand this. It is hands down most VERSATILE ball I have ver thrown. EVER.
A buddy of mine, who averages around 220-230, said "It makes me feel like im cheating..." He threw my ball in his work clothes and sneakers, and shot 279, 290, 233. He then went home and ordered one offline.

After getting it drilled, I came back to the lanes where I used to work and shot 3 games with it. First game starts off with front 7, a few spares here and there, 265 first game. Second game, start off with front 5, a few spare here and there, 229.
After looking and that scores I realized that I was bowling fast, not really consentrating, and just chucking the ball. And I still went 265-229. So I figured I could really do something if I consentrate.
Next game, I slow down, focus and *aim*. I then shoot next 11 in a row, and ring a 10 pin on the last shot...299.

Prolly less than 10 games OOB, and it has already secured the spot as my "go-to" ball.
I have never voted for a ball of the year, and I know it is early 2009. But I think this ball is something every competitive bowler should consider.
If you want something that is more versatile than you could dream of, this is it.

Well like I said, I could go on for more 15 pages about this ball(and I dont even have 10 games on it). This ball is truly something special, something that I have yet to come across in the 10 1/2 years ive bowled.

There have been good balls, great balls, and even amazing balls. If I HAD to describe one word, it would be "perfect".

Here is a pic of mine...

Roto-Grip, I think you killed yourself. You made a ball that makes it unnessesary to buy any other ball.

Thank you for reading(or skimming),
Chrispy

Dan,
I'm not in here to make friends and be everybody's buddy. When I see something ridiculous I will point it out. I don't really post often, mostly read. I will however post when I see something as ridiculous as this.

Look at my first post in the topic, I don't believe it was out of line.

Not looking to be friends doesn't excuse common decorum.  Just because it's an Internet forum doesn't mean you shouldn't carry yourself with some class and dignity.  First off, it's much less frustrating to read, and it makes it more likely that people will care about what you say.  When I read your posts where you call someone out with biting, sharp language, I'm more likely just to think "wow, that guy's a prick" than think "wow, that guy's right."  I'm just sayin'.

And for the record, I'm not disagreeing that Chris grossly exaggerated when talking about this ball, but I also know he's not just putting up huge numbers on a super duper easy house shot.

I'll work on mellowing out. It is very hard for me to read a lot of the stuff I read on here, and every now and then I can't refrain from blasting. I'm a work in progress.

On a side note, I have thrown 2 different Rogue's and I will agree with him saying it's a very good versatile ball. I don't see it going nearly as long as he thought, but definitely cleaner through the front than the solid.

Makes sense.  Still haven't seen a Rogue Cell in person here yet, but unless his spare ball is at 180 grit, that would definately be the case.

Dan, I am glad you understand about Lyndon. I guess from my point of view, this is the way the ball reacted for me. It is the way I saw it.
Maybe by chance you know Jack McCarthy, he owns lyndon and is a very close friend and coach of mine. He coached me for 2 or 3 years at Trinity, and even though he is now at UofL, I still see him most of the time when I head down to lyndon or see him and his sons John and Joey in league or at tournys.

I guess if somebody else was standing behind my back watching me bowl that night, they COULD say differently, I understand that by you saying "I am exaggerating". When I bowled, it just seemed like the entire lane opened up for me. Like I said below, I couldnt miss. Out of the 3 games, I missed the pocket 2-3 times, and that was my fault for pulling it. That is why I said, it seemed as though as long you got the ball downlane and right of the head pin, it got back. And it carried.

Like I said, some people wont believe, and the truth is, I can barely believe it myself. As I said, I have never thrown a ball like this before. There is just somethiing special about it. Its very hard to explain.

And also, for some other reference, I went and subbed in a league tonight, it was a scholarship league on the Scorpion pattern. I am NOT saying this pattern is tough or easy, I am just saying it as I played it/saw it. I was playing around 4-7, making sure I didnt let it get inside. If you got it out, and not out too late, it would grab and come back with ease. Pulling it was a no-no, as there was not a lot of help inside. I started around 4/5 keeping it mostly straight, and slowely moved my feet left as it started to break down. I ended up my last game playing 7 out to about 2/3, making sure not to get it out late. I went 242, 219, 268. The ball still seemed to be very versatile, especially not hooking up early. There were a few shot that I thought were gonna be through the face and they ended up being dead flush. The main key that I found out early was to make sure to come up the back of the ball more than around it.
As carry went, I think I have found out this ball sends messengers everynow and then. For the most part(im a righty), in stead of a messenger, the 6 pin seems to like to "seem" to go flat, and then grab the 10 pin from out of the gutter.

I do believe this ball is something that should be desired my most.
This is prolly gonna be the first ball I will try and take video of, only to show people from my perspective.

Chitown, to be honest, Im not sure about surface changes. I mean I know polishing the ball will give it more length and backend, but as far as mine goes, it seems to belt out more backend when it needs to and soften up when it needs to. I guess if you are having troubles with it checking up early, I would suggest putting some polish on it. The only thing I think would be a problem would trying to controls the monster backend the ball would have.

So on that Scorpion pattern, it sounds like if you missed in a little it would shoot passed the breakpoint?  That's the way I understand it, since you said said "making sure not to get it out late."  I have a hard time picturing how you could get it out to the dsired breakpoint late unless you drifted left or something.  Either way it sounds like it was a good match for that line and how you were rolling it.  On the Scorpion I've bowled on, that line won't hold, then against I was coming around the ball.

Chrispy, I'm glad you like the ball, so long it scores for you, thats all that matters. I just got mine punched up 4 x 4 pin next to the ring finger, supposedly has the most continuation through the rack. We will see, I hope its not all hype like the dynamo I just blew money on, and its tamer then my magic.

Hmm..Lets see what I have in this bag...some magic, some hot sauce, and a saw.. how can I loose....Dynamo and Liberator on the way.....

....HG-300(2006 w/Desert Heat)...299 (03/15/09 w/Agent Orange)...HS-776 (Hot Sauce Pearl & Ebonite Magic)

Big deal.  So you like a ball.  That's a reason for everyone to "must read"?

Im sorry, I guess I didnt bold the fact that it is THE MOST VERSATILE BALL I HAVE EVER THROWN. EVER. but yes I do like it, thank you for reading that.

Also, for all the other people investing in a Rogue Cell, I rolled another 299 tonight on a fairly easy THS, smashed a dam 9 pin. and followed it with a 220 and a 279 for a 798 series.
