Anyone try a Rico drill on a Cell?
« on: March 18, 2008, 01:54:24 PM »
I just bought one and I am considering a Rico drill. Anyone have any thoughts good or bad on this. My pro shop operator is drilling my ball tomorrow afternoon so its not too late to stop him if I have to.

I just did a modified version, 5 1/2" pin-pap about 1/2 under my bridge with MB at 45*.  I have only thrown a few balls with it so I cant really give you a review.  It was on a pattern with fresh backends, ball got through the heads clean and made a big back end move.  This was a box finish.  Hit me up in a week or so after I have had a chance to really use it.

Thanks for the reply. Thats what I was thinking the ball would try to do. I wish you could have been able to tell me a little more. I know it revs up early so I just wanted to make sure it gets down the lane a little farther. I have the red PBA Inferno drilled up Rico and that ball is just awsome. I thought that if I was to drill up the Cell rico it would make the turn a little earlier than the Inferno and make a more controlled turn vs a more violent speed depending turn. By speed depending I mean if I was to throw 16.5 MPH vs 17 MPH the ball would be a little less forgiving and make a harder turn left causing splits. So I guess I was thinking of taming the over/under. I just dont know if that is necessary with this ball. Looking at the drill sheet it looks like 4C is a modified Rico drill. I was kinda in between the Rico Drill and 4C. My PAP is 5 1/4" and I consider myself as a tweener with at least medium revs.
