Title: An In-Between Ball
Post by: bigdawgwill44 on February 04, 2008, 11:49:30 AM
What would be a good complementary ball to fit in between the Cell and the Venus. (Cell heavier, Venus Lighter). 17 MPH speed, medium revs. Thank you for responding!

Horizon solid or Mystic, depending on you and your needs.

which epic would you suggest, the quest? What about a pluto? would the horizon solid be to close to the cell to fit in between the cell and a venus?

would the mystic, being pearl, be enough for my ball speed 17 mph. I always get worried about pearls because sometimes they wont react. Thanks

This my friend, is no sissy pearl.  If you do come into problems with it skidding just a tad to far, lightly hit it with a 2000 abralon pad just enough to take the glass finish off the polish and voila!! Pure bliss.

Do you think a pluto would be a nice fit between the cell and venus?

Anyone have any thoughts on the Pluto, fit well between the cell and venus? Thank you for a response.

The Pluto and the Venus come from the same line..the planet series...I have both balls but they are drilled differently.  I would have to say that if they were drilled the same neither ball would hook more than the other.  The Pluto would hook earlier and the venus hooks a little later, but still cover about the same amount of boards.  Honestly your best bet for an "in between" ball would be an Illusion or a Mystic.  The Illusion is actually my benchmark ball and I love it.

nope, the previous summary is good for Venus vs Pluto..

Why didn't you like the other three suggestions: Horizon solid, Mystic and Illusion? Depending on your delivery and the actual oil and lane surface, any one of them would be perfect.

the pluto is a really nice piece. i got it and my cell the same time and to me the pluto is not all that much weaker .i have mine stacked pin up over ring.about 4.5x5. It has very nice move off break and good recovery off dry. It will skate in longer oil and its not a dry lane ball. Hit and carry are very very good and if you consider the price its as good as gold.
the more i use it the more i like it. It has the same type of move as the epic line, and with the right drill and surface set up could probably be used on heavier stuff. I used mine sunday night when my rising was too much and it really impressed me . It has won a spot in my bag.
