Another good night with the Epic

I have been saying for over a year that the Epic is a phenomenal ball.  Tonight in league I started off with it.  I threw it for 2 frames with bad results.  I bagged it for another ball for the rest of the game.  

I was not satisfied at all with my carry, so I got it back out after the first game.  I finished with the last 5 for 245.  Last game I had the front 11 while not even throwing the ball very well.  Ended with 298 for a 746.

When there is enough oil, I truly believe it is the best ball out there.

Does epic give you good length and flip?  I was looking at the epic dream because I really like the epic core and that coverstock but you can't get it in the states.  I like the idea of the coverstock on the epic but I'm worried it won't give me a nice angular entry at the pocket, or flip enough.

Mine is not very flippy.  I would call the move a very hard arc.  The drilling and surface prep are why.  I tried it with polish but hated it.  I don't know anything about the Dream, so I cannot comment on that.  However, you might want to look at the Saga if you would like something longer and strong in the Epic line.  The hybrid solid/pearl might be just the ticket.

My Epic is drilled pin under ring with the MB kicked out quite a bit.  I imagine that a pin up drilling with the MB farther from the PAP would be pretty flippy on it.  All this depends of course on your release and lane conditions bowled on.  I hope this helps some.

Insidedrive, if you want skid/flip, the Saga or Silver Streak SE are better choices.  I had no problem with pin carry with the Epic when I owned it.  For me, it shined on lanes with a good amount of oil in the heads and higher friction backends because it smoothed out the wet/dry reaction.  The only time pin carry was a factor is when the head oil left, but I would just move in or change equipment to something that would go longer.
