Suggestions on Drilling for Odyssey

I have an Odyssey currently drilled pin above ring finger , Mb about 1 " r of thumb and the reaction is very over/under for me. Looking to plug and redrill. I track right next to thumb and about 1" off of fingers.  I have a Saga and Battle drilled the same and love both. Just puzzled on the Odyssey.....Any input is appreciated...

Hi Todd,

I found that the Odyssey was very strong for me too when I first got it(throwing it in box condition).  So I polished it up, and then I got the over/under that you are experiencing.  However, I found myself trying to make the ball fit the shot, and it really was just too strong for the house patterns I was throwing it on for me(even polished).  

Recently however, I've been bowling in a PBA experience league, and it worked fantastic on the 44' Shark pattern(avg'd 220 for me last week) in the polished condition.  That really surprised me, I didn't think it was that strong - flat out amazing.

What types of conditions have you used the Odyssey on?

What are the cover preps on the Battle and Odyssey?

I also have an Odyssey, mine is drilled pin under ring finger with the mb right and below thumb, close to val.  The ball makes a nice strong, predictable move.  Mostly on patterns less than 40 ft.
Hey Rotodan,
A question about your Odyssey.  I too am in an Experience league, and have the Shark to contend with this Monday.  I would like to use my Odyssey inside, but can't.  Every time I try standing 30 and projecting through 19,20 at the arrows at the 3 pin, I do just that...........crush the 3 pin.  I have med to high revs with med ball speed.  Is the problem that 1 year old Brunswick lane beds play slicker than others, or do I need to take the ball down to 1000 abralon.  Where were you playing with yours? I had to use my Battle sanded to 500, standing 17 straight up 10, to get a whiff of the pocket.

I was playing from about 12 at the arrows to about 8 at the breakpoint, a fairly tight line.  We had several folks playing the track and not very many inside...so through the course of the night, the pattern started to open up and I could move inside more(still with the Odyssey).

The lanes here are also Brunswick synthetics, and are about 1 year old also.  I will say that I play in another house, the same synthetics but the lanes are about 3 years older...those are much slicker.  So the combination of surface, age, oil type, machine, mechanic, etc. all play a big part in what kind of reaction you will get.
