Post by: Track900 on February 27, 2014, 11:03:34 PM
Has anyone thrown both of these? Just curious how the two balls compared.

Asylum earlier and smoother, Fusion cleaner and more at the back of the lane....Both good, I would say choosing between them would be based on what else you have in your bag

I agree except the last sentence is a little off..........you need BOTH of them in your bag!!!!!

Make room for them!

Don't put yourself through the mental anguish of choosing!!!!!!

I have both and don't know how I could pick between the 2. Having both with drastically different layouts is allowing me to conquer most house shots im seeing.

Ive shot 300 with both within a week of getting them. And I had a 299 the week I got my marvel s. Lots of good stuff to choose from. Im loving Storm and Radical this year!

In all seriousness tho both balls are phenomenal. You cant go wrong either way.

I have a Variety of stuff but I have a pin down IQ Tour Solid that I absolutely love. The ball is so versatile from any angle. Only problem I run into with it is when the pattern starts going away and forces me extremely deep, I find it to quit downlane. I also have an IQ Tour Pearl and that ball has plenty of angle but I have never truly matched up with that ball very well, it seems to be extremely long and then just dead left when it encounters friction. I prefer balls that have the harder arc in the midlane over skid/jerk.

The fusion is the best of both. It reads the mids a little better than the pearl but gives slightly better angle than the solid. The hit and carry are great as well. With a proper pin to pap to control flare and balance hole you really could have the reaction you're after.

You could realistically have a 3 ball iq tour line up to conquer many shots.

Ever try 4000 on your pearl by the way?

Id go asylum. Smoother reactions are easier for me to use

+ 1000

If it still does not slow down, go 2000, then 1000. If 1000 makes it too early then take it back up with 2000/4000. Scuff on pearls slows the hard jerk off the spot most of the time.

I have an asylum, it might be my rev rate but that ball goes sideways for me at the end of the pattern

How do you have it drilled? What conditions are you playing on? What's your rev rate and speed? Out of box condition? All of these factors play a part of what you are seeing.

Mine is 60x4x45 p3. 500/3000 surface. Rev rate 350. Speed 16. Tilt 26. I would say mine makes a very controlled but pissed off move off the end of the pattern

Mine is 50x5x70 which tames down the backend and gives me a great read throughout.   I just tweaked the surface to 4000 to add just a little length.  It is quickly becoming one of my favorite balls.

This ^^^^^^ is one of my favorite drillings. Glad to hear that. What's your speed as well?

Wow! You and I are very similar, at least before my injury. I used to throw at 16. I am now down to 14mph. Pap 4 1/2> 1/2^
