I'm thinking of adding a Cell Pearl to open up the lane a little, that's really about the only thing missing for me now. Has anyone tried a 6x5 on the Cell Pearl? I want to be able to swing the ball and still have enough backend to get up the hill. My Rapid Fire Pearl has some backend but it seems to be too weak to really open the lane up, but it's a monster playing up the boards.
If not a 6x5, what other layouts can produce a lot of backend?

bowlingball.com people have a video of a guy with that layout, and it looks like it opens up the lane really well.

What is sandbagging???

Unless you really get a lot on the ball I don't think i'd recommend going with that weak of a layout, using a small pin buffer and a 5-5.5" pin to pap would accomplish a stronger reaction to friction, i'd consult your driller first but in most cases i've found issues with 6" pin to pap for everyone but the really high rev guys.

What about a 5x5 or a 5x4 layout?

I put a 5.5x4 on mine and it gives me all the backend I could ever need but still stays smooth and consistent. I would look at maybe doing that. I know i am a pretty high rev rate guy though. I'm up around 400
