HP2/HP3 Solid

Anyone have an estimate on when the next HP2 or HP3 ball will be released and if it's hopefully a solid?

It's crazy ain't it?

The devour was discontinued early, I'm not sure if they expect you to punch up the storm match/fight/rocketship/ in its place?

I'm Sure the touring pros do that AND the !Q's. Typically roto has had a solid line up top to bottom, schlem even brags about it, hell we got 4 hustles now lol.

Good question!!! Hopefully someone knows.

And with the daredevil hype it'll probably be a daredevil solid.

Right! I was looking to replace some of my middle ground equipment (Hybrid Dirty Bomb and Dirty Bomb, 2 out 1 in deal) and I wanted a solid. Currently the Rocketship is the only one winning me over since I have a Ride. I think I'll wait and see what drops....someday.

I think a solid in the HP2 line will come before another addition to the HP3 line. The latter has/will have two new releases this year (Hy-Wire and Dare Devil) while the former only has one (Wreck-It). Roto Grip is usually pretty good about updating each line so that's my guess right now. That and a pearl HP4, most like the No Rules Pearl. Maybe sometime in February?

Yeah makes sense! Side thought, so would HP2 be considered the Thunder line equivalent or is it really a grey area?

HP2 would be most similar to the Hot line. (I.e. Devour, Hectic, Match Solid, Match Pearl)

So based on that, an HP2 Solid release shouldn't be considered a "bigger ball" than the Rocketship?

I would say no... generally. The Wreck-It (and Wrecker before it) wants to start an argument otherwise though. I don't think a solid in that mold is coming though since the Devour used that core. Most likely a new one is up next. The HP2 line is due for something new in that regard.

It may be due for something new, but the neutron core is so good, I wonder how Roto Grip can top it? And with its success, why would you replace it?

I would not mind seeing the Nomad brought back, but in the HP2 line.

Roto Grip balls generally don't last too long. They/Storm has been bringing some cores back lately but the Roto Grip replacement schedule seems fairly consistent. They're constantly bringing in new stuff and retiring the older equipment.

And for what it's worth there has already been a newer core in the HP2 line. Whatever was on the Uproar, Outcry, and the solid that I can't place a name to of off the top of my head. The current Neutron also isn't quite the same as the original, but they've done a solid, pearl, and hybrid with it recently so I doubt something new comes out with it now.

I would like to see an HP2 solid with numbers in the range of 2.50-2.55 RG and .045-.050 Diff.

I doubt something with that high of a differential is coming to the HP2 line. The RG could be just about anything but Roto Grip is pretty consistent with low(ish) differential for that category. The Wrecker pushed it with .042 but that's the highest I can remember.
