Wanted to check in and see if anyone was excited for the Dare Devil Trick?
I have the original Dare Devil and I love it.
What you guys think?
-
I guess no one is that excited about it. I really enjoy throwing my Dare Devil, so now the same ball but with a Solid cover stock, i can say im pretty stoked for the release of the Dare Devil Trick
-
I'm curious to see it roll in person. Don't have a spot for it at the moment though.
-
I think the Dare Devil is the best ball Storm/Roto has released the past couple of years and I expect the Trick to be just as good
-
I Agree
-
I saw something that said that it's the best benchmark ball...which I'm confused on, as the same thing was said about the Dare Devil. I'm looking at getting the DD to fit into my arsenal, after a very engaged discussion. I'd be interested to see how the Trick rolls.

"Man this new Dare Devil Trick....it DDT's the pocket like Jake "The Snake" Roberts"
(https://www.ballreviews.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fstream1.gifsoup.com%2Fview2%2F20150715%2F5230159%2Fjake-roberts-ddt-2-o.gif&hash=1f434055cc2d060c49ae6cf7e0f4bd6acca34aaa)
All jokes aside and in all fairness, it does look like a good ball.

I'm probably getting now so I can tell DDT after striking. Just like I do with the no rules. "NO RULES!!!!". (AFTER I CUT OFF SOME YAHOO TRYING TO GIVE 6 LANE COURTESY!!!! HAHAHHAHAHAHA)

No company is immune to this shit marketing. Every ball is that much better than the last.
benchmark is dependent upon the bowler.

I will give a honest guess since it is not even available to staff players until after the USBC Masters next week. The RG/Diff numbers are very close to the exact same numbers as the Optimus Pearls and Solid. I can imagine if you like either one of those balls, then the Daredevil and Daredevil Trick should have your interest piqued.
The Optimus Pearl for me was very smooth when I needed the push thru the fronts but still a smooth roll off the spot downlane. The Solid was probably even smoother when I want to get back closer to the friction spot and not have massive early reaction.
I could see someone taking a Daredevil Trick and doing a simple label type layout and having something to try out at USBC's this year. Without knowing the pattern length or volume this year, having smoother options in your bag that you can square up if needed or speed up if needed makes the most sense when planning your arsenal.
-
I don't think the DareDevil rolls like an Optimus. That series did not match up for most people.
-
Also, RG and diff being close doesn't mean it's going to be like the Optimus. Remember, core shape dictates motion.
-
I did say honest guess. My guess work is not always dead on. LOL
The Optimus Pearl rolled well for me on a couple of longer PBA patterns with scuff on the surface and a worn lane surface. It was not good on league conditions and hardly got out of the bag.
I see the Daredevil right now with more down lane motion easily than the Optimus Pearl. I would think that the Trick might be a solid version of the same but solids tend to be smoother unless it a No Rules. That ball is all back end dull or not.
-
I Pre Ordered mine, ships in 3 weeks!
-
I'm very curious as to how the motion will differ from the Rocket Ship, Phaze II, and Torrent.
-
Buddy of mine shot a 300 last night with the Dare Devil! In the Baltimore area, those Optimus balls sold like hotcakes! They could not keep them on the shelves, there was always a backorder!
In the Riverdale, MD area, closer to DC, not so much! Sporadic sales here and there. Those folks I've seen throw it, threw it well! I always wanted one but didn't pony up and buy one.
It will be very interesting to see how this "TRICK" rolls. I love the Dare Devil motion.
-
If I get this, I just hope it's not another Haywire experience. Too strong of cover for such a smooth core that I hated it. Drilling will have to be really considered for me.
-
Im thinking maybe a Pin Down layout. But im also thinking of drilling the same exact layout I have on my Dare Devil. What u guys think?
