Title: Deranged or Asylum? Love the deranged tho..

I allready own a deranged, but it's cracking around the fingers. Could be nothing serious, but you never know. Question is, Should I buy a spare deranged now, or should I go with the new asylum? And keep the deranged until it falls apart?

How is the motion of the asylum compared to the deranged?
Anyone own both?

I'm a newly started 2 hander, with aprox. 450rpm and about 18mph.
Started bowling juli last year.

The Asylum will yield a more consistent motion, but it is stronger overall. The Deranged is more on the skid/flip side, but it is a rolly pearl. You can get a Deranged for $109.99 on bowlingball.com in case price would be the x-factor. I'd say get another Deranged if you don't need more strength. However, I personally think the Asylum would be better for you.

Imo you will be able to use the Asylum more. For me the Deranged is more lane specific, but I do throw it harder. For me the Asylum is a much better overall ball. It starts up sooner and has more of a smoother, but stronger motion. If you want a bit stronger and not as flippy, then go with the Asylum.

really? is the asylum more smoother? Roto grip's website shows it different if you compare these 2.

Also, I've never owned a hybrid ball before. How can you keep it clean?
I usually put my ball in a bucket of hot water for 20min. Clean the water, and again 20min. Sometimes sand it with 2000 abralon and polish it with storm extra shine.

The Asylum for me, picks up in the mid lane and has a strong arching motion to the pocket. The Deranged goes longer then flips. So IMO the Asylum is smoother, in other words, it does not have a uncontrollable flip, and it hits hard. I also want to let you know that I am not a 2 handed bowler, so my reaction may differ than yours. For cleaning all of my equipment I have been using " clean and dull", been using it for years.

The asylum has a strong but controlled move!  Great ball! It's a strike machine
