This is suppose to replace the Battle I'm guessing ?
The colors look a lil nasty IMO....
Nothing will ever replace the Battle..I got 3 of them drilled and 2 NIB just in case..lol

The core design is come back to the original EPIC. I have Epic & Epic Battle, but i do like the action of EPIC rather than the BATTLE

This might be the ball I hoped the Odyssey would be for me. I loved the original but really don't care for the Odyssey. I was wondering if they were ever going to use the Maximus core again.

The ball looks sweet! It will be available in 12 - 16lb though. This time we have a modified 12 and 13lb core that will be almost identical to the 14 - 16lb Maximus core. Those bowlers who can't quite get to 14lb will have the ability to throw one with a more dynamic core.
The ball looks sick! Plus the green won't be so much once they go into production.
The battle definitely can't be replaced, but this ball will take over in the product line for heavier conditions.
Thanks,

I think the Quest looks pretty cool! Looking forward to trying it out, and If I go to the ECC this year it will probably come with me for the long pattern!
Having the "proper" core in the lighter balls is great, btw!

damn that sing is sexy reminds me of a storm ace

If you hit the "Next" button at the bottom of the spec page, you will see more new releases from other manufacturers too.
I still have not gotten to use my Battle too much, maybe 3 times, there is just not enough oil for it and I don't want to polish it, so I am just keeping it for heavy oil. I have the shark pattern in two weeks I will probably use it then.
-
what are realistic release date for it? is it in pre production yet? or still getting all the storm ramped up?

Actual release date is August 8th, not the 30th. The July 30th date is a possible release date for customer in Europe. That is where the original poster pulled the information from.
Tim,
An early release program should be available for star shops again. Working on all the new stuff now before Bowl Expo.
Thanks!

But with the Quest having the same core as the original Epic, does that mean that the MB rating will not be as high as the Battle and Odyssey?
Correct Angelfire. BUT the MB rating is nearly as high on the Maximus core as it is on the Maximus II core. The biggest different you will notice with the Quest is the higher RG core will not rev as early as the low rg Maxiums II shape in our other Epics. The cover will make up for that with a 2% load (higher than the battle) and our new finishing process. Raw balls are cut and then go straight to our 1000 abralon finish.
Thanks,
