Exotic Gem
« on: December 04, 2022, 08:10:56 AM »
Roto Grip’s newest HP4 line ball is the Exotic Gem. It features the Micro-Trax pearl cover which has the Defiant LRG core and the new Reacta Gloss polish. I drilled mine 5.5 x 5 x 5 and after throwing this ball I was quite impressed. The Exotic Gem is just clean through the front part of the lane but because of the Defiant LRG core it is without a doubt the earliest and strongest pearl on the market today. Compared to the Gem which I had also drilled this way, the Exotic is a few feet cleaner down lane and create more backend shape. I feel like lower rev rate will fall in love with this super strong pearl and ones with higher rev rates will also get more use out of the Exotic Gem due to the fact of the Micro-Trax pearl cover.

Review
The Exotic Gem features the Defiant LRG Core wrapped with the Micro Trax Pearl Coverstock providing an RG of 2.47 (15lbs) and differential of 0.053 meaning the ball is clean through the front of the lanes with a very strong reaction on the backend. I tested this ball on a 42 feet typical house pattern. I was able to stand anywhere from 20 to 32 boards and rolling the Exotic Gem between the 5 and 10 boards with great carry. The Exotic Gem is the closest ball to the Altered Reality. My ball layout is 50x5x40. This ball is awesome. This ball will be in my bag for league and tournaments. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers. Order one from your local pro shop today! My ball review videos are posted on YouTube channel Stanley Waite.

Ball Specs:
Roto Grip Exotic Gem
Coverstock: Reacta Gloss MicroTraxâ„¢ Pearl Reactive
Weight Block: Defiantâ„¢ LRG Core (Asymmetrical)
Color: Citrine/Apatite/Amethyst
Review:
The Exotic Gem continues the Gem line in a strong way. With the cover/core combo on this ball it is probably the strongest and most versatile pearl available right now. When I see the Gem becoming to much ball for the lane I like to “ball down” to the Exotic Gem. That way I have the same look and reaction from a very similar core/cover combo. These two are always in my bag when traveling for tournaments and the Exotic Gem is typically one of the first balls out of my bag for league night. With it’s great versatility you are able to play just about anywhere on the lane with any style being able to handle this ball.
