Epic Battle Loosing backend reaction
« on: May 10, 2006, 11:27:41 AM »
I've had my Battle for 3 months now and it seems to be loosing it's backend reaction, not turning the corner as it did for the first 35 games or so. it now has approx 60 games on it I clean it with Storm Reacta Clean after every set and have used Clean and Dull 1 time after a set on heavy oil when the ball was new, any ideas or suggestions.

go to ur local pro shop and have then take the top layer of the ball off. Tell them to hit the ball with 600 sandpaper and work it back up to out of box condition

I would suggest putting it on a spinner and using grey scotch brite and a good bit of water.  I would avoid using sandpaper on any particle.  Particle covers respond much better to scotch brite.

I have 2 Battles.  I use the dull one on wet Sport conditions.  I prep it with the grey pad and I have yet to see a drop in performance.  I have over 100 games on my dull one.  My shiny one I use on Sport shots when the heads have broken down.  I have about 30 games on it.  I am a big fan of the Battle.

If you have access to grey scotch brite I would use that (as I have done it on all of my Battles) to return your ball back to (near) OOB. An added bonus is that you can do it by hand w/o the use of a spinner! If you don't think makes it hook enough, *lightly* hit it with red.

One more thing to consider, around this time of year a lot of centers cut back on their oiling (whether its cutting back on the volume or amount of times they oil a week), thus actually *reducing* the hook potential of the Battle (due to roll out). The only reason I mention this is because I have had over 60+ games on my Battles before I noticed much of a hook potential loss.
