How weak is the neptune?  Has anyone used it on some really dry lanes?

It is not as weak as say, a Visionary Slate Blue...but it is weak...maybe a few boards less than the Mercury it replaced (and a bit smoother too) or a Storm Jolt pearl.  It would also be a step down from a Hammer Vibe (purple or blue), since I know you like Hammer, chitown.

Of the current (or recent) "dry" lane balls out on the market, in order from most hook to least:

Roto Grip Saturn
Legends/Lanemasters The Buzz
Hammer Blue Vibe
Storm Jolt Solid
Roto Grip Venus
Hammer Purple Vibe or Ebonite Blue Ice
Dynothane Crisis Solid
Hammer Pure Hammer
Legends/Lanemasters (I forget which) Hornet
Storm Jolt pearl
Insite Bowling Prophecy
AMF 300 Orbit Extreme
Roto Grip Mercury
Columbia 300 Jinx
Brunswick Power Groove
Visionary Blue/Green Centaur
Roto Grip Neptune
Brunswick Power Groove Dry/R
Legends/Lanemasters Straight Flush
Visionary Slate Blue Gargoyle
Lane #1 Clear Diamond (polyester with a core)

Of course, this list could go on and on, and I am sure I missed something...if you need a ball for super dry lanes though, you can't go wrong with an old urethane, or a Slate Blue if you can get your hands on one.  Best case scenario?  Grab yourself an old Faball Black Hammer, with a bit of polish...smooth...
