I'm looking for a ball between my Trident Abyss and Code Red. Mainly because at my league shot when i need to transition from my Abyss, my Code Red wont pick up will leave washouts. So i was looking into either the Halo pearl or Idol pearl. I wanted to make sure that these would still be a good upgrade and give me more hook than the Code Red since it is a hybrid and these being pearls. My style is a stroker about 16-17mph.

Halo Pearl would be the one between them, it's not Abyss strong, but the Code Red is still asym and a bit stronger than the sym Idol Pearl.

I donâ€™t understand why asym r2s (code red) would automatically be stronger than any symmetrical ball including the idols. Cover is like 70% of ball reaction iirc. Itâ€™s like saying that an aggressive drill idol solid is weaker than the hot cell or the asym plastics simply because the latter balls have asymmetry. That said I do think the halo fits better in this case

The natural step down from an Abyss would be a Golden Jackal.

I was considering the Halo Pearl, but after watching Luke's review of the Super Idol I picked up a Halo Burn (MTrax Pearl Cover) instead. Not sure why my PSO randomly had two of them lying around but he did (I'm in Asia, but not Korea/Japan).
