Critical Theory Questions...

I read alot of good things about this ball. I remember reading about the Theory quite awhile ago that the cover  required alot of attention and fairly quickly as soon as 10 games...My son got one today a Critical Theory and was just curious what experiences people are having with them... we have a friend who insists i've wasted my money on this ball due to cover death that will happen in 20 games...I haven't had any problems with the Mutant Cell or MC Pearl I had...

Your friend is a doofus.  I have about 60 games on my Critical Theory and it is still going strong.  Just remember to clean the ball with reacta-clean after each use and you will have no problem. 

 

By the way, Ball death after 20 games is ridiculous!

I have never had cover death after only 20 games on a Roto Grip or any other ball for that matter.  As long as you clean it after every session and periodically resurface it, it will last. 
 

Maybe he is jealous that your son got a Critical Theory since it is one of the best balls to come out this season...

I've never seen true ball death on any ball in less than 50 games, no matter how it's taken care of. If you clean a Storm product after every use, and touch up the cover as necessary, you will get tired of the ball well before it dies.

Tell your son to enjoy his Critical Theory.

My Theory has well over 50 games on it, and still is a monster for me. My Cell Pearl has well over 200 games on it and performs fantastically. I clean my equipment after every outing, and doe a deep clean on the spinner after about 30 games. Had my Cell Pearl rejuvinated after 100 and 200 games approximately.

 

Don't worry about "ball death"....just take care of the "tools" and they will take care of you.

Ok....I did do a clean up with pads on a spinner to my original theory and it did come back to box.  The ball just looked dirty and beat up....so i cleaned it...I have never had a ball show a ton of improvement...usually I HATE the reaction i get when i clean up the surface...and for some reason this ball loves it...

 

I had no honor scores with it, and as soon as i cleaned it up...300 one week, 801 the next..its got about 50 more games since then...so I am going to do a full resurface, and I will post the results...Im expecting another 300 and 800 atleast lol.

 

I have heard or read on here that the original theory likes to be cleaned up with pads and cleaner every 7 games, but I like most dont have the time or even notice it after "7" games....im ready for a resurface after like "70" haha...

 

I havent shot any honor scores out of box, but like the original, the infinite also works wonders too...I had my pro shop clean up my infinite with step 2, and like 2 weeks later i posted 844 with back to back 300's....

 

So that being said, I hate to disagree but cleaning the theories have gotten me 5 honor scores within a month of cleaning them...and nothing OOB.
