Seeking help from you Roto Heads...
« on: May 04, 2006, 04:12:05 AM »
You guys helped me out with the purchase of my last ball...the SSSE.  You guys are geniuses, that ball is awesome, I am averagin ten pins higher in the last 3 months since getting it.  I have had two weeks under 600, aside from that I have been shooting around 650-700 every week.  Love the ball and the late hook, it suits me very well but I am now bowling in a sport league and on the longer paterns I need something that starts hooking a little sooner.  My question to you guys is, should I get another SSSE and drill it to move sooner or should I go after another ball entirely?  I have read alot of good things about the newer balls but I want to get your opinions.  Thanks in advance for all your help.

Hello,

I would suggest either an Epic or an Epic Battle.  Both are stronger earlier than the SSSE.  The battle would be for much heavier condition.  The EPIC for longer and heavier patterns.

Get the Horizon. Its an awesome ball and will compliment your ssse perfectly..  If you want something for heavier oil, get an Epic battle..

BOTH of these newer release balls are awesome. I have both and am very happy..

Keep in mind that I play alot of boards with a decent amount of revs (380ish) and a relatively slower ball speed (15.5) and I usually do better with later hooking more angular balls but need something for longer oil patterns.

The Battle is a great choice for higher volume patterns and the coverstock is very tweakable polish and grit changes it also seems to just roll down hill, If it's a pearl particle your looking for the Oracle Vision will give you length/backend and ther is no quit in this one either. The Horizon is a fantastic ball on THS shots I have not thrown it on a spot shot so I won't comment.

My arsenal:
Epic Battle
Oracle Vision
SSSE
Horizon
Saturn
Mercury
