Ish getting RIDICULOUS. $170.00 for a urethane? Somebody please explain this one to me as I am anew bowler. Isn't urethane dam near a plastic ball?

Storm's prices went up about that much. Makes sense. You're number 1 in sales, why not bump the price up?

I, too, am surprised at the price point for the Hot Cell. Is it reasonable pricing, or an overreach? I guess we will know more as the first reviews and videos come out from the people we consider to be trusted sources.
For those of you old enough to remember, when the Quantum balls were first released, it was a restricted distribution through authorized pro shops and a $200 price per ball. It was an eye popping number at the time, and yet they sold quite well. Not everybody bought one. I'm sure many people at that time felt the way that many bowlers feel now about pricing, and they voted with their wallets.
Nothing has really changed. Voting with your wallet is still the easiest way to deliver a message to any industry, and you don't have to lodge a complaint to do it.
I totally get what the problem is as a consumer. It is a pretty good chunk of change to risk on buying a new ball, and nobody is directly guaranteeing you any satisfaction with it's reaction or ability to score. I would hope your pro shop operator is doing his/her best to fit your needs to a ball that will work best for you, but it is still a risk you take.

Only if you really flatten your hand out at spares. But in that case just about every ball is going to be somewhat similar. If you're throwing a urethane and plastic normally the reactions are much different.

Yeah I'm not feeling the Hot Cell at a premium price. Not a surprise since it's in the HP4 line, but still seems over the top.

As for the price on the urethane....can't speak to the change in pricing for any other ball or line...if the ball is pure urethane, the lines and tanks have to be cleaned prior to the run to ensure there is no residual resin left from any previous pours. This is extra work and an extra expense that is not incurred on pouring other covers.....

This ball says puke early on toast to me.Unless you bowl on lots of short patterns why waste the cash.My plastic with core Spare plus does fine on  32 34 35ft patterns when it gets tough and is a great for spares.Sooner or later everybody will wake up.170$ for urethane is this a joke?

I remember purchasing the original Black Hammer around 1989-1990?  Couldn't believe it was $100.  Bowling ball pricing seems to go up much slower than other sporting goods though so thankfully we aren't paying $400 for a new high performance ball.

Seems like the 309$ difference put lane 1 just about out of business.Or are they out of business. Not heard any new stuff from them.No more use than you get out of urethane needs plastic ball pricing if you ask me.

Lane 1 customer service was crap when i ordered simple Secret Sauce ball polish. Its been 4 months now and still no product. The $300+ bowling balls they try to sell are ridiculously priced. Sure they sold some to their faithfuls and staffers. Just like Lordfield/Lane Masters, i dont know of anyone other than their own staffers throwing their stuff.
