Title: How does a Outcry compare to an Wrecker?
Post by: Track_Fanatic on February 27, 2015, 08:17:04 PM
I have a Wrecker that I really like a lot.  How would an Outcry compare to it?  I have a strong drilling on my Wrecker.  I know the Outcry comes with 4k finish and not polished.    I'm looking for something that will give me a little bit more push through the middle part of the lane.  Maybe a Shout would be better than a Outcry since the cores are similar?

Shout is garbage, unless you like standing on top of dirt and going very direct. So if you're left handed you may like it. It is SO cover dependent and barely changes direction at all. In my opinion, its not a ball you would use very much, if it all.

My wife has a Shout and it provides a whole lot of length. If you are playing on anything other than light or dry conditions you could probably use it as a spare ball. When it's drier, going more of a direct route (down and in shot) seems to be the best course of action to produce strikes for her.

I like the shout a lot. Great for the burn. I was very predictable for me. Not good on anything fresh even lighter oil but a burnt ths and it was money

Don't skip the lights out.  Great ball

My wrecker and shout are my best combo for wood lanes THS.  I have the 2012 shout that is very similar to the newest shout.  I can get deep with it unlike like NF said, however u have to seriously soften  up..itll leave ten pins otherwise.  I love balling down to it because its literally a way longer smoother wrecker.  I didn't match up well with the uproar.  So I personally can't recommend that outcry, IMO

I would rank them strongest to weakest...

Outcry
Wrecker (nearly tied, the outcry has a stronger finish on the cover, but the wreckers cover is stronger IMO)
Uproar
Shout
Scream

Has anyone actually bowled with both of them?

I currently have both of them and I would have to agree with VK1970 on the shout... for me it is also suited best for the burn...provides easy length with a smooth transition and predictable... As for the Outcry it is sooner and provides more overall hook in the back of the pattern and retains a lot of energy when going through the pins.

However I cant compare it to the wrecker as I have not thrown it... but if your looking for something similar to the wrecker go with the Outcry and adjust the cover but the shout will be much weaker overall unless you put a stronger drilling on it

I have bowled with both the Wrecker and Outcry and the Wrecker is longer and more skid/flip when compared to the Outcry.  The Outcry has a duller cover OOB, so picks up the midlane a little sooner and is smoother.  Also have a Shout and it is little stronger than I expected.  Reads the midlane nicely but doesn't overreact.
