Hustle Camo
« on: August 31, 2021, 06:21:07 PM »
The Hustle Camo is such a cool looking ball, that is if you can even see it (get it..?) Anyways, the Camo features the same core and cover as the PBR but the Camo comes out of the box shiny where the PBR is sanded. Naturally the Camo is cleaner and retains more energy because of the surface difference. But in my opinion the Camo is the Hustle Ink 2.0. So if your Ink is starting to build up its number of games, I think the Camo would be a good replacement option. As it relates to other Hustles, the Camo is stronger off of the spot than the PBR but isn't quite as sharp as the Wine. Overall, it's good piece and the majority of players will find it very useful!

Roto Grip Hustle Camo:
VTC Solid Reactive with the Hustle Core
1500 grit polished - layout : 6 x 1 x 6
Compared to the Hustle INK the Camo is really smooth and less reaction then the INK with a similar layout. I needed something with the recent house shot changes that would be super smooth and not overreact on the fresh. Played out of the normal track area and used the lighter oil outside of ten to help develop the shot. If used inside round 12-18, the ball just ran out of juice - mainly due to the layout. This ball and layout combo was fabulous on shorter patterns and lighter volumes on wood lanes. Really nice addition to the Roto Grip line. Don't be fooled by the CAMO, it's for REAL!

Hey everyone, I'm back with another ball review, and this time it's for the Roto Grip Camo Solid and In 15 pounds this ball is wrapped in the VTC (Versatile Traction Control) Solid Coverstock and comes 1500-grit polished with an RG of 2.53, Diff of .030. with a lay out of 5 1/8 X 3 1/4 X 2 5/8

Depending on the surface of the Hustle Camo, bowlers will be able to use this on low-to-medium oil conditions. There are not many balls that can cover a variety of conditions, especially at an entry level price point. To give a comparison the Hustle Wine will glide just a tad through the front of the lane compared to the Hustle Camo. This two-ball release will be a nice transition when the "benchmark" balls are just too early. The Solid and Pearl will naturally be longer and stronger.

Drilling pattern: 3.5 x 75. Pin position: Below ring finger. PAP: 4.5 over and 1 up.

So I was a little late to the game with Hustle Ink so it seemed the Camo was the next best thing. Certainly very clean with the shiny cover and more responsive downlane than what I was looking for. Took a 2000 pad to the cover before my latest league session and BAM! Exactly what I was looking for. It was still relatively clean through the fronts (not an overly aggressive piece which is required in our THS leagues) but the additional surface greatly diminished the backend motion to more of a "roll" while still maintaining great continuation through the pins. Fantastic ball when looking to play a little straighter with predictable motion.

Ball Specs:
Roto Grip Hustle CAMO
1500 VTCâ„¢ Solid Reactive
Weight Block: Hustleâ„¢ (Symmetrical)
Color: Army/Black/Brown

Review:
The Hustle Camo joins the line of one of the most versatile low ends balls that have ever been designed and created. This low-end solid allows me to play straighter on lane conditions that may require me to move my feet left. Adding surface to this ball has allowed me to create a motion that has not been matched since my Hustle Ink. The Hustle line has always been an eye appealing line and the new camo color keeps the tradition going. The Hustle Camo and the entire Hustle line is something that can be enjoyed by all levels of bowlers. The color options alone would make it appealing to all bowlers. Make sure you get yours soon!
