Title: Hyper Cell Fused - opinons?
Post by: BeerLeague on April 03, 2018, 07:44:45 AM
I just drilled this ball and tried to throw it on a house china shot ..... AMF synthetics, Kegel machine, 40 ft china shot.

My axis rotation is @45 degrees 400 RPM, 20' tilt. - this ball goes SIDEWAYS.   How the hell is anyone supposed to throw this thing?  I guess I'll try 2000 surface on it and see if it simmers down. .....

I'm starting to feel like the game has passed me by .. I'd rather throw a low-RG symmetrical ball and let it roll up.  Unfortunately, today the kids get left and throw it right with some hook monster, and destroy the pattern It makes it so wet-dry that a recreational pattern plays way harder than it should.

I thought this ball would have the motion I needed to combat the house pros and let me play across their burn spot ...... I failed :)

I have 2 of them.

It does go sideways - a ball motion that I am comfortable with.  It's not for everyone.

And, the game has not passed you by.  Let go of that "whoa is me attitude" - it does not help.  Bowling is bowling - don't pretend it's something different than it is.

On a house shot, you are going to score best with whatever ball motion you are comfortable with.  If that happens to be with the Marvel-S/IQ Tour Solid/Dare Devil Trick ball motion - so be it.  Stick with it and work on fundamentals.  Don't worry about what the kids are doing.  Or expand your comfort zone, develop a game that incorporates more side to side than front to back motion.  Either way - commit.  And be the best that you can be.

Well explained explanation; I also accepted this year after so many years that the sideway ball motions are not for me either;  I’m DEFINITELY better with the balls that leftywall has mentioned above ^

I could care less about what new monsters young guns are throwing. CONSISTENCY beats out hit or miss any day on the lanes.

Agree with both of the "lefty"s  in that dont worry about the young guns and while you may not be comfortable with the quick sideways motion it may be something you can work on incorporating into your game. Took me the longest time to get more comfortable moving left as a lower rev guy but it is slowly clicking that as I move I should always consider balls that are quick off the spot down lane so that I can carry the corners. And this is the one ball I will purchase for next season based on everything I have seen from other users.

I liked the motion right away, but at the same time it was a motion I’m unaccustomed to.  Took me a few games to figure out how to play with it.

Last night it helped me break a slump I’ve been in since mid January.  231-227-227 and I was able to use it all night. Really like this ball.

Personally, I find mine to be overall a more stronger motion than the Intense.  It is A LOT of ball and will have some giddy up down lane.

Lol this post is great.  That's why I gave mine away, zero way I'll ever need that much ball ever.  Very good ball though, very good, just not for everyone.

Definitely snappy at box finish, though not as much as the Intense. More versatile than the Intense, but still not as versatile as other balls in the line up. I took mine down to 2000 and it's much more controllable, but still will likely only see use when I get on some of the heavier volume sport shots. At that finish, it's easily as strong as the Sure Lock.

I adopted this doctrine but after never cashing consistently with my baby 600s on tough shots I kinda wanna go 500 (fail to qualify) and baby 700s (win it all or make the stepladder) so I can relate to both the OP and the above.

I got mine about a week or so after it was released. I will admit at first I did not like what I was seeing on the lanes. Cover change to 3k and some light polish and experimenting on the lanes with different lines. I figured it out. This ball is best suited for me playing straight up 5 with maybe some subtle moves left. This ball just flat out kills it for me when the lanes are suited for this shot. If I need to get deeper I will change to my Intense or my IQ Tour. But for down and in, this is the ball I use because I can move right and pipe it. It did net me a 300 just over a week ago, so I guess you can say I figured out how to use it. Is it stronger than an Intense? I think they are both strong. Intense I use it when I need to move left and have to go more right to left, but its much more smoother with a strong roll at the pin deck, where as the  fused is long, strong with a skid snap type of reaction. I am glad now I have it because it has a place for what I was missing.

Well, I hit the ball with a fresh 2000 pad and now I love it !  It forces me a little more inside that I would like but it is strong enough to roll up.

It rolls nice, doesn't jackknife on the backend and blends the wall out pretty well.  Who'd have though ???? I was ready to use it as a boat anchor.
