Hyper Cell line - what will be better?
« on: January 03, 2015, 08:01:07 PM »
I have using the Hyper Cell now for just about a year. I will have the Skid on 1/6. and I am hoping for a future Hyper Cell with a hybrid cover. I wonder what idea Roto Grip has to better this ball. IMO I can't see a solid with the cage core being as good? The way the H/C hits with the power continuous drive, that most of the time slaps out the 10. So how can you better this ball? Only time will tell, but if the H/C ever becomes discontinued, I will make sure I have a few stashed away!

I've always been a fan of the Cell line.  It just seems that regardless of style, that proven Nucleus core seems to match up really well and give some versatility.  Between the Hyper Cell and the Skid, I could see the Skid potentially being ball of the year.  Pearl cover along with a heavy rolling core that still gives continuous motion is a winner.

It is definitely a nice ball, between that ball and the Hysteria, you can cover a whole lot of conditions. Well, except for last night when the center decided to oil the lanes with a faulty machine that leaks cleaner while oiling, what we had was an oil/cleaner hybrid concoction that was horrific for all involved.

Sounds like the first 3 weeks of my league last year where we had some really interesting patterns out.  Turns out the machine was putting out double the volume along with a bit of cleaner at the same time.  That was the only time I ever had to sand my Defiant down to 500.  Usually that stays at 2000 or 3000.

I have the answer!  When they 'properly' do critical theory/lucid/crux/sinister version of the Cell!!! (The rogue doesn't count!!!!!)  That will be the king of them all!  The cores on all of the others aforementioned, are no where near as good as the nucleus!!!!

You know it, the American People know it, Bob Dole knows it!  Haha.

@northface - yeah that was a blast - always love seeing a decent thrown shot backup into the 3/6 pin on ths. 10:1 odds they'll "fix" the machine, and it'll be worse next thursday. can't wait.

5 bucks says we bowl at the same center!!!!! Totally sounds like my alley except it would take them entire week to figure out what went wrong or longer.  Like a league meeting to 'go to another center' meeting! Haha

With my Hyper Cell - Hyper Cell Skid - Sinister being my main line up, I have a arsenal that just kicks the crap out of anyone else! ( unless they have a ROTO line up as well) -- then when the lanes brake down further I will go to either my Uproar or my Rising Star. Now that I have had the Skid for over a week, I have learned when I can use it, and when I need to change. The back end movement on the Skid is simply just unbelievable! So far this ball has impressed me the most out of any ball that I have ever had. If you want a strong back end ball, get a Skid! 8)

I love my hyper cell but rarely do I get to use it. Its probably the heaviest rolling ball I've ever owned. I love the hit and carry of this thing, but I was also thinking of getting a skid to see if its just as good and better suited for more of the in between conditions. The past couple seasons though Hammer has been real good to me..more specifically the jet black taboo and the absolut flip. Love those and can almost get away with the two on any house shot and some sport patterns with them. Most tourneys that use the more difficult patterns I use the HC and have to take a pretty big step down to my taboo/ black widow assassin.
The difference between Ordinary and Extraordinary is that little Extra.

I will say all the big scores lately are all of the roto stuff!  Even the last 2 900s were disturbed, and uproar.

I also have a Soul and an Asylum that I can also use if I need them. About 5 years ago I started using Roto Grip. My scores started to esclate up from matching up so well with most of there stuff over the years, I deceided to only throw Roto, and I am NOT on staff. I use what works , so I do not need to look elsewere, and I don't intend to! I will also add that IMO the Hyper Cell is probally the best rolling and hard hitting solid ball that I have every had. When this ball matches up to the lane, no other ball can compare to it!
