Ok, can some one explain to me the term spin rate and what that info would do for me in purchasing a ball.

What makes asymmetric balls interesting is that they have a strong preferred spin axis (PSA).  The PSA is one of the most stable axes that the ball can spin on, so it has a strong desire to change from an arbitrary spin axis to the preferred one.  The spin time is the time it takes for such a ball to find its PSA from some standard starting axis.

There's a special machine called the deTerminator[/i] that is used to find spin times.  Lower spin times mean a strong mass bias, more asymmetry, stronger PSA.  That means the position of the marked MB has a greater effect on ball reaction.
