Really looking forward to the Rising Star.  Did the layout on the Rising and Dark require an extra hole with the cg being almost in the thumb hole?  Seems like they would have had too much thumb weight.  Nice videos and I hope to see some house shot videos as well.  I have been having so much success with my low end Roto Grip stuff (Venus and Dark Star) on house shots.  I also have a Nomad Solid which I thought I would just love and don't even have it in the bag any more.  I tried different surfaces on it, but still never found it to be the ball I was looking for.  Maybe I need to change the layout.  Looking forward to trying some high end Roto stuff one of these days, but don't know if I really need it for my once a week house shot life.

I loved my Nomad Solid! One of my favorite balls of all time, if not the favorite! I had mine drilled 65x4.5x40 and it was money and very versatile, I will say my Dark Star drilled 70x3.5x40 is a close second! It is almost time to replace, how would the Rising Star do to replace it?

Nope no extra hole needed on either.  I use turbo switch grips so that tends to take a bit of extra thumb weight out to begin with.  I will have a house shot and surface change video up soon with TJ taking his Rising star to 4000 if i remember correctly, it really rolled well with a surface change.

The Rising Star is more of a compliment to the Dark Star rather than a replacement.  I absolutely love my dark star because it allows me to play straighter on just about any pattern without over reacting downlane.  The Rising Star compliments it by being able to read the lane a little earlier for when the dark star is just pushing a bit too far.

I think it would be more beneficial to see a MCP vs infinite, rather than a nomad. I already have both, but I wasn't completely sure until I threw my infinite that I made the right choice.

In the bag

Rotogrip MCP(pin over bride, 5.5" p2p. MB 65º)
Ebonite Mission(pin under bridge,5.25" p2p, MB 70º, low weight hole) polish over OOB

Storm 2Fast(pin over ring, 4.75" p2p)
Storm Fast(pin under bridge, 5.25" p2p, low weight hole)

Coming soon
high scores??

Here is my quick review of the Infinite Theory and the Rising Star.

My specs:

Ball speed - medium - high

PAP  5  1/4  x  1  3/8 up

INFINITE THEORY REACTION:  I drilled this ball the exact same way as my original Theory. The Theory hooks almost an arrow more than the Infinite with this type of drilling. This ball shines with the oil carries down and the Hybrid cover takes over. On the fresh I start out with my Theory and when it starts burning early and wrapping corner pins I can go directly to the Infinite Theory and this ball starts right where its big brother the Theory left off. This ball also has a little more continuation then the original theory due to its Hybrid cover. If you like your Theory this is a must buy as you will have a great 1-2 punch with these 2 balls in your bag.

RISING STAR REACTION:  I get excellant length with this ball and a very controllable and continuous backend reaction. I compared this ball to the Nomad Dagger with the same drilling. The Dagger is about 4 boards stronger then the Rising Star but has a very similar motion in the backend. This is a great 1-2 punch. For heavy handed players you will love this ball as you can get all over it and still get plenty of length and recovery on the back of the pattern. For those bowlers with slightly less revs you will have to stay to the right but this ball will still have enough on the backend that this ball will be utilized when the pattern breaks down.  Excellant job ROTO!!!!

Really liking my Infinite Theory so far.  Will post a review when I have some more games at another house or two.  Drilled mine 80 X 4 1/2 X 20, and it gets down the lane and turns left hard, I think I need a turn signal.  Really able to open up the shot much more than I can with my Wicked Seige.  Similar to 607A SE, but stronger overall.  Great hitting power.  More later............

BTW, nice videos Britton, I will be contacting you in the future, I have some questions.
