Ball above RSP?
« on: February 03, 2007, 05:05:52 AM »
I can cover most medium to medium-heavy with my RSP, but I'm thinking about putting something over it in case I see heavy stuff in a tournament.  Here are the options I'm looking at:

1. Battle
2. Rush
3. Saga

Any opinions on what fits best in this slot?

I would get the Epic Battle or the Epic Odyssey. I think the Odyssey would be a better fit though.....

Battle is particle, so it will, without a doubt, handle heavy oil conditions, and give you more control on more difficult tournament patterns.

Odyssey is solid reactive.  BTM gave it a monstrous 17.5 backend rating, which is tied for the highest ever.  Should be more of a medium-heavy (closer to heavy) oil ball, weaker than the Battle in carrydown and in oil, but MUCH stronger off the dry.  Recovery should be fantastic...but of course, nobody has thrown one yet.

Both have the same core.  All you have to do is pick a cover.  Personally, I would go with the Battle, since it is a proven winner on oily lanes.  The Odyssey might struggle on a pattern where you need the ball to roll pretty early.

Hope this helps.

The Odyssey is nothing short of strong
but with the right layout and surface prep
I'm sure it could "be" a Battle... The Battle
will be better on a heavy/long(45+) pattern
but we don't see that around here..

I had a Battle and was able to test an
Odyssey... I absolutely love the Odyssey
and can't wait for it to be released.. it
is remarkably easy to get thru the fronts..
Although the move downlane is very strong
it is predictable...

My 2 cents...
