Title: Looking for right ball

What I am looking for is a ball that has a smooth arc to the pocket in the mid-lane that is good on a dry short pattern with flying backends. My other equipment goes long and snaps way too much. I got some foward roll but have med to high revs so overall the hook is a lot. I was mostly wondering if the sonic x solid would work and which drilling layout i should use.

Justin........yes, the Sonic X Solid is definately what you're looking for!  Both the original and the solid would work.  Although the original Sonic isn't a skid/snap ball, it's a bit snappier than the solid.  With your med/high revs w/ forward roll, I'd go with something like a 4 1/2x4.

Roger at RotoGrip says not to worry about drilling these Sonics too strong,...w/ the low differential, they will still be controllable...good luck

If the pattern is dry and short and you have med to high revs, while the Sonic solid may be the best RG ball, you may still need to sand it dull to 1200 - 2000 to allow it to burn up some in the mdilane in order not to produce an extreme hook in the backend. Experiment with the stock cover and if there's still too much backend, try sanding it very fine.

Justin....YES !! Good point "Wise One!"  This ball does come box,...1500 polished.............

Thanks for all the advice and the sonic x solid will be the next ball i buy for sure.
