rising star surface change
« on: July 05, 2011, 09:55:06 PM »
i really like my rising star. I was just wondering if anyone had changed the surface on it to try to let it handle more oil and if so what were the results. This ball is so strong for me oob I am curious but I dont want to alter the surface and mess up what I already have thats why am asking

my style, the art of bowling without bowling

It was way too strong and jumpy for me at OOB. I took it to 2000 then back to 4000 no polish and it tamed the reaction a lot, but still remains strong.

I really like mine at 2000 abralon, no polish. Very consistant reaction and exactly what I was looking for. Since I wanted it at that surface, I sanded it before I drilled it, with no complaints.

I actually left mine at OOB and found that around here it reacts really nicely.  Big thing with me is on the dry, the OOB allows me to get a little deeper with a swing shot and gives me good recovery.  My VG Nano was a different story as I did have to change the surface to get it where I wanted it.
