Rising Star first impressions
« on: December 16, 2012, 01:23:03 PM »
Just threw my new to me Rising Star.

First Impression, oh my!

I have another Hybrid the AMF Shred-It VERY strong and jumpy.

This has push, revs hard, and then a strong move and HIT!

I will see in league which is a much jumpier fresh whether the Rising Star can not overreact on my severe wet/dry shot that exists for about a game and a half.  Only solids have handled it. !  If close to being able to handle the early shot....Oh my!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS why did I have questions about this core versus the Photon? Hmmmm

After using in league I will again say "Oh My".

I am a tweener with decent hand and softer speed(been coming up a little lately).

This ball 3 inch pin out is drilled stacked under my ring finger with the CG down, and about 5/8 side and good top and surprisingly no thumb weight.  REVS, creates a small amount of belly and then explodes with smooth powerful attack angle and tremendous hit.

NO this ball can not handle the harsh wet/dry that exists through practice and the first game like I hoped.  Only my solids can blend that out.  But once the second game comes if I can keep the speed pedal to the medal(this revving gorgeous core monster with plenty of push from the coverstock) grabs at the end of the pattern and slurves in for tons of recovery and hit!  The oohs and ahhs I heard during a couple of strike streaks regarding both the hit and the recovery were reminiscent of listening when one of the new powerhouse two handers like my son are throwing!

With this ball on a league condition no board splicing is required.

I love this core so much that I picked up my NIB Shattered that my GF is getting for me for Christmas last night.  I am certain it will be a wonderful and beautiful replacement for my powerhouse Sonic Boom that I continually worry about losing to age or cracking!

Regards,

Luckylefty
PS noting the higher rg I really love the high rev nature of this core and the rounded and almost angular approach to the pocket.  I may have to pick up all the balls with this core shape!  From the Shout all the way up to the Shooting Star!
