Just in case you guys haven't seen. With the results from yesterday's tournament Wes finishes the season in the top spot! Wes won 3 tournaments and led the PBA with Championship round appearances. All of which in his first season with Roto Grip! WAY TO GO WES!

I too am happy for Wes - he clearly deserves it. I have run into Wes at a couple of regionals here in the southwest and unlike other national pros (no names - not into that) he is ridiculously down to earth and normal.
I was however, hoping he would have made the US Open TV show in order to really put a cap on the year and to create tons of buzz. Having the top three POY guys all on the last show - the US Open at that - would have been amazing.
An interesting story that I was surprised neither Randy nor Rob brought up is that Mike Scroggins, Wes' coach at West Texas State, saved the POY award for him. I would have thought that would have been discussed more.

Wes is the guy that I pull for each and every week. I'm glad that he finally had that "breakout" season that he did. Should be interesting to see what he does over the next few years, since now he has without a doubt, established himself as one of the true stars on the.
I kinda figured that he would be a down to earth kinda guy. Just a big, laid back texan...understands his skills and abilities, but doesn't feel the need to advertise that. I hope to have the chance to bowl a Pro-Am with him someday, if the PBA brings a tournament near where I live.
