Menace or Haywire??

I want a new ball...so I am trying to decide which one I want.... Menace or Haywire??   I am a lower revs, stroker, 14-15 ball speed, so which one should I choose?   I have one roto grip ball, critical theory, which I've had good luck with...and my others that "match up" well with me have been, Brunswick balls (Mastermind Intellect & Nexus f(p+f)... Any feedback to help me decide would be appreciated!  Also any suggestions on how to drill it...

Menace is much stronger than the Haywire.  If you want it for Heavy oil, then go with the Menace.  For normal to dry house conditions, go with the Haywire.

I haven't been able to use my Haywire on anything close to a normal to dry house shot. The ball is so strong and never stops driving. I'm not saying that the Menace isn't stronger, but no way is the Haywire a dry lanes ball.

The Haywire is not a Dry lane ball.  It is great on med to dry House shot.  You will have to move in on dryer conditions.  It is a great benchmark ball, but it is not the best ball for Heavy oil conditions.

You're medium and dry house shot must have a lot more oil than what I'm playing on. I seriously can't move far enough left or loft the Haywire far enough to keep it on the right side of the head pin. I have tried it in 3 different houses with all 3 having different surfaces with the same result. I know it's early and it's still in the 80's here in Illinois, but I'm wishing for some oil! I've been using my Sky Rocket and Ride exclusively.

  Go to the Rotogrip site.  Menace is HP4.  Haywire is HP3.  HP4 is stronger.  HP3 is better for medium lanes for a stroker, like the original poster asked about.  If you are a cranker then you may think that the Haywire is stronger because it has more energy left at the breakpoint and it may make a stronger turn.

Haywire cover is stronger than Menace cover. Menace has a stronger core. Arguing which of these balls is best on dry lanes is like asking what part of the Sahara desert does an ice cube last the longest. If your looking for a dry lane ball go Devour at the most more favorable Loco

On roto's site, side by side on the ball comparison the haywire is actually a border or two more overall than the menace.

I was able to throw both (not a prefect fit but close enough) before I chose the Haywire.

The two I threw were drilled identical, pin over ring and the CG kicked out a little
They were very similar, maybe an extra board on the Haywire
but what I noticed was the Haywire had more energy at the pocket

I have mine drilled pin down and the CG kicked way out. I'm using it on a 43 foot flat heavy oil pattern

I will say this, I've seen more Menaces than Haywires in my scratch league.

I bowl two other leagues, one THS is a med to high pattern and I can throw my Haywire for the first game and a half/ two if I'm the only one playing inside

the other THS is a med to light and I don't even bother taking my Haywire with

But for his stats it kind of makes sense of why he would say that. The OP is also a lower rev average speed player. So if it works for him it would probably work the same way the OP.

I have the Haywire drilled pin up -- over ring ---- this is the first ball out of my bag. I can't say how impressed I am with this ball. I can play down and in with it - then migrate left. Ball is very controllable with a smooth but strong move to the pocket. I can't speak for the Menace, but you can't go wrong with a Haywire!

Don't discount the Devour either, Beef Stew says it's one of his new favorite balls and at the price point might be worth looking into.
