Rogue cell vs. Cell pearl
« on: September 08, 2009, 10:02:16 AM »
My friend is getting ready to buy a new ball and he is wanting one of these two. He doesn't have to many revs but does have a pretty high ball speed. I was just wanting to know how these balls really compare. I know the rogue is a little stronger than the pearl, but which do you think is more forgiving, and would suit him best? Thanks

Depends.  Low revs. high speed bowlers in general should get strong cover equipment, but what is he looking for?  Is the ball for heavier, medium, or lighter oil?  You say he has lower revs. but what about his axis tilt?  Does he try to bowl more down and in or does he look for more of an arc?

Assuming he is a down and in bowler (most high speed low rev. guys are) and he is bowling on heavier oil I'd go with the Rogue Cell (actually an original Cell may be better).  For medium to lighter oil the best Roto ball for that shot IMO right now is the Nomad.  For me pearl balls are better suited to open up a shot and lower rev. guys don't get to take advantage of that too much unless they are capable of adding more axis tilt.

Rogue cell. I have both and the Rogue is possibly the most forgiving ball i have EVER thrown. you can throw it on almost part of the lane. low revs and high ball speed, rogue is made for that. i have a pretty high ball speed but do put some hand on the ball. even when i stroke it, the ball will carry. never go to a tournament without it.
