Crushing with a CELL Pearl
« on: October 23, 2008, 01:55:02 PM »
Posted on www.rotogrip.com in the Success Stories section from last week.

To set this story up, I have been throwing nothing but my Cell so far this year and the reaction and carry I have been getting from it is nothing short of amazing. Just 6 short weeks into the season I am averaging 250 with my low set of 721 coming the first week and a high set of 798 on the fourth week. Incredibly, I have left only 5 ten pins (right handed) so far this year! Needless to say I am off to a pretty good start.

So when I heard from Tim Mathe, our local Roto Grip Staffer, that you were coming out with the Cell Pearl I had to think for a minute about whether or not I really needed to add to my arsenal. After a couple of conversations with Tim and input from Steve Richter, a good friend and also a Roto Grip Staffer, I had Tim punch one out for me with the same layout as my Cell. The results far exceeded my expectations!

Tonight in league I threw my first three games with it: 300-245-289 = 834! I am completely in awe of this ball's performance! For a pearlized coverstock, the Cell Pearl reads the oil very well and finishes stronger than any pearlized ball I have ever thrown! I carried 32 of 35 shots leaving only 2 solid 7's and the lone shot I got soft with my speed I left a 4-10. Other than that - total disintegration of the rack!

Most people would be extremely content posting the scores I have so early in the season and would not even think of making any kind of change in their game at this point. But my confidence in Roto Grip to continue delivering unparalleled quality equipment is unwavering. That is why I knew without a shadow-of-a-doubt that picking up this ball was going to be something special.

For a once a week bowler, I don't aspire to do too much with my game anymore. But I will tell you this - your equipment certainly gives me the opportunity to make the most of what I am doing.

Thank you Roto Grip, and I wish you continued success!"

Got an email from him tonight that simply said:

"300-242-268.  Averaging 278 the 1st 6 games with the Pearl!  How ridicous!"

Maybe fake-poster 'daveozio' could give him a call to see how his is rolling?

Totally uncalled for

Why are people making this big deal of what the poster 'daveozio' has to say about the ball ? Just because the ball was hyped to be the greatest ball ever, does not me mean that everyone will like it.

Just so happens that the first review of the ball happens to be bad...People can't keep crying over this..lol

I have to say that I am helping fix the Cell pearl for a few out here in Vegas, both guys have went to my grit 2k abralon and on our patterns it is working like a charm.

I had feedback from another BR member we did the same thing with the same results, the ball will push sometimes too far on lower rev players.

So Daveozio knock the flipping factory finish off and try out 2k abralong and stop whining, 4k no polish would also work well for tweeners.

Btw now the ball is everything you think it would be and more, not hype at all to me.
