Roto-Grip and Carrydown
« on: November 17, 2007, 03:07:50 PM »
Well, recently I have been using strictly Brunswick stuff, but I decided to try out some Storm/Roto stuff and have been very impressed thus far.  I bowl at a particular house that carries down quite a bit somewhere between the end of the first game and towards the middle of the second game.  My Brunswick stuff is great as long as I have some head oil and clean backends, but once those two things go, they are nothing more than fancy paperweights.  My question is what do all of you Roto/Storm guys think would be good for combating carrydown and helping to get me out of that flat 10, adjust, through the nose zone?  I was thinking maybe an Odyssey or maybe even the SD-73 Classic due to the larger flaring nature of those two balls.  I would probably shine those up as the heads tend to go pretty fast too.  Some stats about my game:  PAP 4 3/4 right, 16-17 mph, power tweener, slightly more speed dominant than rev dominant.

Thanks for any input you can provide

You gave two good choices, some choices that I would suggest would be the storm shift which cuts through carry down really well, the sd73 classic would to, possiblly a roto grip mystic as well. Another great ball would be storms new Attitude shift, has a solid cover, but handles carry down really good and is good for a wide variety of bowlers, and conditions. Hope this helps.

i have 2 odysseys and you wont be dissapointed. What ever the condition you sre bowling on i believe you can find a shot with the odyssey. In carry down or ,if you polish it , on drier lanes ,i dont think there is (imho) too many better choices. If you want it for heavy take the surface down what ever you want you can do with this ball.

I am getting an Odyssey this week andit will compliment the rest of my equipment. Another thing to help me with carry down is I sanded my Mystic and that ball will cut through anything.

I also have an Illusion coming and that will be a kick butt ball.
