New Core, New Coverstock====>EMPIRE

The CAMâ„¢ (Controlled Axis Migration) core was developed using three alternating ellipses. Each ellipse is positioned strategically along the x-axis and then rotating the middle ellipse perpendicular to the y-axis. This gives us constant imbalance or differential as the ball is travelling down the lane and migrating towards its preferred spin axis. In simple terms, this means more consistent hook from start to finish.

The final element to the equation was coverstock. The Cyto-Xâ„¢ pearl reactive coverstock is the first of its kind. We are using an enhanced blend of reactive material with interference mica to develop a high surface topography or texture (Ra). This translates into a pearlized ball having the same surface texture as a solid in the oil, but with the performance characteristics of a pearl reactive down the lane. The bottom line is this is a revolution!

That core looks sweet!

Definitely picking one up if I can find one.

I wondered when a new International ball would show up - nice - you know I usually check Roto Grip's site every day, I miss a week and they change almost all the International line - LOL

Actually it is probably them trying to recoup development costs on something that "failed" in development.  In other words when trying to design a new ball they had an idea of what they wanted a core to do.  They came up with and tested several designs.  One of those designs was the CAM core.  Another was the Cell core.  Cell core won.  CAM core was shelved.

Another option is that they simply use production material from other ball lines/for other brands and combine it with shelved or re-animated cores.

AFAIK, Brunswick has done so (well) in the past years, and also tested coverstocks on the international balls before they made into "normal" production.

The Empire looks cool, though, very high differential at 15 lbs., this thing should be moving well when drilled to go long and flip
