Hectic sounds like an HP3 ball. To me that name is similar to Haywire, I'm gonna guess hybrid cover. Maybe a new Asylum if they use the disturbed core again

I listed them from top to bottom, Hectic is HP2.

Interesting. Normally they don't do another release until January, so this will be even more interesting if it's before Christmas

I'm all the new stuff they just released wasn't any good except for the haywire. That ball is pretty sweet. Hopefully new stuff will be better.

Just like any ball from any manufacturer, you match up with some and some you don't. It's not really fair to say that 'we're not any good'. What may not be good for you may be good for others.

Right on.  There was some EBI stuff that didn't match up well for me in the past but 2 balls from Track (Paradox, 505T) have really fit my game well.  Also seen the same with stuff from Storm/Roto Grip and then even the original box finish on my Motiv Covert Revolt had to be changed to really fit.  Not everyone will fit with a specific ball or surface.  It doesn't mean the company sucks though.

Are you serious? The Devour is a machine.

Lol my buddy went from 170 (newer bowler...5 or so years in) and was averaging 220 with a menace... Now he's flat lining to about 200ish.

I bet the critical is a 4000 grit pearl no polish with a disturbed core. ..

I think it's interesting that they are using Critical as a ball name.

Eternal cell is up on hi-sp.  Polished solid...I'm up for that... I guess.

I think the devour was ok.  Most guys I know that have it stick with the disturbed or hysteria.  The haywire is a home run.  Idk if it'd the core on rotos high end balls but I haven't liked the look of either the sinister or menace.  Both hyper cells were much better pieces.

I can give you a little taste of what each are.

Eternal Cell is a shined asymmetrical using the Nucleus core for the HP4 line. Critical is the theory core and a hybrid asymmetrical for the HP3 line. Hectic is a shined symmetrical for the HP2 line using the Late Roll 56 core (same as Devour).

Storm always has a pre-Christmas release. Roto would then have their second release of the season in early January and then Storm would have an pre-USBC tournament release in February. Roto is trying to get their second release in line with the Storm holiday release.

Asymmetric core in the HP 3 line. Hmmmmm, maybe a response to the DV8 Vandal which had been very popular.

I like the look and idea behind the Critical. But...I just got a HC Skid and it's almost too much ball for my house shot so I don't really see a need for it unfortunately

"We opted for control in a different form by taming down the shell just a pinch. You are welcome."

That statement made me chuckle for some reason.

It's more like, "your center puts out a weak sauce china shot, and the guy who just pushes the button actually has no clue.  That being said we polished it, you're welcome!"

Triliptic Core and the hybrid cover.  Looks like it will be similar to the Infinite Theory.   But, it will be nice to see how that core does with the new cover.

Looks like the cover is 2/3 pearl so I'm guessing it will be similar to the original Critical Theory. They probably put some solid in it to smooth the reaction some. I'm super excited for this ball!

I think part of it was because many people originally thought the Critical Theory was a hybrid because it was way stronger than the Infinite Theory and it came dull instead of shiny.

Anyone notice the Eternal Cell cover is called 72 M? I like where they are going on this one.

If you own a NIB Critical Theory, would you consider selling the CT and getting the new Critical or drill up and the CT as it should be just as good?

For Stone St pattern med low revs

The new Critical is actually supposed to have a hybrid cover that is stronger than the Insight Pearl cover that was used on the Critical Theory.  Even with a higher rev rate, the Critical Theory is still a strong ball.  Also my favorite out of the Theory line (Infinite Theory ended up being too condition specific for me).

The Hectic sounds pretty good. Anything else would be too strong for my house. I can barely use my Outcry 😪.

I think they will be two totally different pieces.  You will see some similarities, especially if you end up polishing both.

I have the whole theory line. And I'm getting that new one so I don't have to punch em up.

I hope to hear more comparisons to the Infinite and Critical Theory. I can't name anyone that didn't like the Critical Theory, but I have a greater need for an Infinite Theory or Virtual Energy type reaction.

Loved the first layout I had, but the second never picked up in the back. I've been thinkig about biting on a NIB before they're gone.

I know performance is the most important item, but I could have picked some way better colors. I absolutely hate the green/purple for the Critical.  :-\

Not to worry, after 9 or so games it will be weak enough :-)

I suspect he means, because it's a particle, it will absorb a ton of oil which will make it useless or less than useful very quickly.

I always wanted a Critical Theory. I have an infinite and even with a pin down drilling, this ball makes a huge move on the backend for me.

My regular Theory loves oil, and when I find that medium heavy oil, it as an absolute monster!

Can't wait!

How long do you think it'll be till we get the official release videos from Roto Grip? They seem to have more balls coming out here at years end then anyone else; I figured they would have released some action vids to get some mouths drooling for a few round Christmas presents.

Ok great to know! I've been looking for 2 weeks almost every day looking for vids haha. Guess I should have been patient for 1 more day :)

I can't find that Stu Williams post though :( The Critical is the one I'm interested in the most atm.
