Have you tried a cover adjustment? If you are using it on a THS, it may not have enough oil and is burning up? I had to polish mine and it is $.

My Lock is a beast for me oob!  Too much for the medium/light house patterns my houses out.... Religated only to my Sport league and tournaments now.

My lock has been awesome for me on heavy patterns; but given that the No Rules is a solid and the Lock a hybrid I would expect the No Rules to start to read the pattern a bit sooner.

I have both the Lock and the No Rules. Granted I have them drilled differently. Both are a 4x4 drilling with the NoRules is pin under and Lock is pin above the ring. NoRules is stronger but not much 3-4 boards and earlier but definitely needs oil. I tried my NoRules today polished and definatly is more usable on a THS. Thewhiz how is your Lock drilled?

Both of these balls in OOB finish need oil to show their true colors.  If you don't like the reaction out of one of these--change the surface to 'more smoother' or polish and I think you would see a difference.

no rules is earlier and at least 4-5 boards stronger in OOB. I would try some polish on the lock, what do you have to lose? you can always take it back to OOB
