Ordered an Ink
« on: July 18, 2017, 07:05:54 AM »
So I pulled the trigger and ordered a Hustle Ink.  It doesn't excite me and I'm trying to be open minded, but at best this thing looks like a weaker IQ Tour Solid, and I don't like that ball either lol.  There will be a video for those who want to check it out, hopefully will have it up Friday.  I also ordered the Exist and Show Off, didn't get a Hot Cell.  Again, urethane and I will never get along and since I don't use urethane, someone else more familiar with it will make a better video anyway.

Im excited since my green Shout cracked, this looks right on time to be a great replacement. A really good ball for the patterns when the backend of the lane is really clean and you don't need the jerk off the spot. Kinda like the Solid Loco but stronger.

I'm guessing you didn't get a Match Up Solid. I'd like to see a comparison between that and the Ink.

Dude how do you NOT like the Tour???? LOL

Maybe because no one wants to shoot single pins 80% of the game?

True story.  Really the only IQ I liked was the Nano.  Differential is just too low.

I have 3 IQ Tours with different layouts surfaces that often ALL come to the alley with me for tournaments (even on house shots), entirely because my carry is so ridiculously good with them. Start with the 3000 grit one, switch to the 1000 or polished one depending on where I need it to get started.

I'd be lying if I said they worked everywhere (they're not magic, after all), but they keep making me money. To each their own, I guess.

Liked the IQ Nano, LOVE the IQ Tour.  But, as mentioned, if it starts leaving single pins, I need to get in the bag and get a bigger motor out. But when it is facing up and going through the pins the right way (which is often) it is as good as anything I have ever owned.  And in a pinch, when I need the control more than huge scoring pace, I will take a couple doubles and a lot of single pins over a 7 strike 180 every time. I do consider the IQ Tour my get out of jail free card quite often.

Idk what Tour youre throwing lol just kiddin I know matchups are key but the only time that ball doesn't strike for me is at 4000. It just makes it go too long, but that is a ball I can literally drill backwards and strike. That and the Hyroad. I think people didn't drill them strong enough though IMO. its really smooth so you have to drill the ball 4" pin to PAP or less or if longer use flare increasing holes and surface. The Tour was my go to in our areas scratch league when all I had to do was adjust surfaces from Pattern to Pattern.

Agee with what the IQ is designed to do; I have the whole arsenal, and while it's older in the tooth, these balls will NEVER LEAVE MY BAG..... the best controlled, versatile pieces of middle line equipment I will ever have (in any line.)
