Title: Nomad Pearl Logos
Post by: fatjoe on February 04, 2010, 10:37:20 PM
I have a Nomad Pearl and really like it but don't like the yellow logos. Has anyone ever blacked out the logos on a ball, if so how did you do it

Black Sharpie.

Water-resistant felt tip pen, or water-based acryllic paint for the more artful approach.

thanks for the replies I figured I'd just use a sharpie what do you do with the pin to keep it black do you have to scuff it up so the color doesnt rub off

Try just the labels first.  The yellow "fades" after a while and it's really hard to see it.  If the pin still bothers you, I use to scratch it with a bevel knife and then use a sharpie.

Just take an old toothbrush and some hook-it or rubbing alcohol and you can clean the stuff right out of the etching or a black wax pencil will work if you can find one, usually at an arts and crafts store.

Sharpie is generally the way to go...

...though when I was a kid I used to melt crayons into the logo's.

Use a grease crayon like drillers use to put initials on a ball. Its the same idea just you don't have to do the engravings.

He's probably not.

I've known bowler's who have done this as well. Most had used the Fine Point Sharpie idea.

BTW, be glad it's not a Morich/Brunswick ball, not so easy to change those.

I don''t know if it is because I am getting old or what I have trouble reading the ball going down the lane with bright logos. My grips are clear.
