I am thinking about buying a nomad solid but need some advice. The house I bowl at has synthetic lanes that are normally medium oil to dry. I have medium revs and throw about 15mph.
I would like to know what you guys recommend for top weight and pin position. I have a couple choices on the website I buy from. I also would like advice on a drilling pattern. I prefer a long shot with a strong back end. I currently am throwing a Columbia Apogee and am struggling keeping on the right side. It seems like the ball is grabbing too early on these lanes and is not sliding out to the normal position. I have been increasing my speed(16.5mph) to combat the problem but that seems to be producing inconsistent results.
Any help would be great.

If you want it to go long on a medium to dry shot your better bet is the pearl and that actually may be too much ball for what you are looking for.. the cover on the csolid is strong and if you are worrying about the pearl just going to long you could always take it to 2000ish.. I would say the pearl with a 5x4 layout..
Or if you want the solid that bad 6x5.. or 5x5 with polish

You may look into the Mars instead of the Nomad if you're already having trouble keeping your ball on the right side of the lane. The higher RG, lower diff core will naturally keep the ball from hooking too early, plus the weaker solid/pearl hybrid coverstock will give you length and control. Don't drill it too weak to avoid turning the ball into a dart, but also don't drill it too strong since it can hook more than you'd expect then.

Without a PAP and RPMs, it is hard to say anathing just based on your ball speed. But I am with los2003: IF it has to be the solid, think about adding polish right away, and a weaker pin position at 5" or more (if you have a sound revs/speed ratio) would IMO be a good bet - maybe take a 3-4" pin ball and put the pin above the fingers, CG in palm (and slightly shifted to your PAP). This should yield a good length with a sharper turn in the back end - paired with a polished solid cover it should still be less jumpy than a pearl.

What about top weight. 2-3oz or 3-4oz? I will get a 3-4" pin.
