Title: Oracle Vision layout(UPDATED WITH PICS)
Post by: agroves on January 24, 2007, 03:26:21 PM
Just picked up an Oracle Vision.  I'm looking for something long and arcy on the backend.  Anybody got a layout recommendation?

5" pin to pap, 3" mb to pap.  I didn't get a chance to throw it, but I'll post back when I do.

I also ordered the wife a Mercury today!

Well, I took the surface to 1500 sanded.

Pattern:
House shot
medium to medium heavy oil
40'Brunswick Syn.(not pro anvil)

A quick little video:

The pattern was dead fresh.  I walked in at 730am and they were just finishing up oiling for the youth leagues.  I started with my Epic Battle(see profile), lay down at 12, hitting 10 and breakpoint at 9-10.  That was flush.  The Oracle was 1 and 1 right of the Battle.  I was very suprised.  I bowled my first game, then practiced spares on the left lane for about 30 minutes.

I go back to the same line with the oracle, it barely clips the head pin.  2 and 2 right and soften the speed up, back to flush.  I tried a few deep and tight, with mixed results, 25 to 17 isn't my A game.  More me than the ball I'd say.

I likey, but I think I'm gonna polish it lightly.  We put the weight hole(it needed one, but I wanted to throw it first) just inside my axis, small hole, deep to get the weight to 1/2 pos side.  That should help it read a touch earlier and be more smooth off the end of the pattern.
