Arsenal Help
« on: September 30, 2009, 02:13:40 AM »
I would like some aresnal help if possible.
Below is my arsenal. I am looking to try and find something stronger than the Virtual Gravity. I really like that ball but on truly heavy patterns it hooks to late. Looking at maybe a pin down rouge cell? Original cell? any other gaps that you can see? Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

I am 31 years old and a tweener that is rev dominant. Not sure on what my pap is
Current arsenal- All Balls out of box

Medium-Heavy - Hy Road 1500/polish pin down

Mega Friction
Bounty Hunter

Another option is to play with the surface of your VG a bit. You could knock the polish off it to start its roll earlier. You could drop the surface down to 2000 abralon, if its too early then polish it up, still too late try 1500 or 1000. Do small steps with your resurfacing until you find the desired reaction.

Not every time do you need to buy a new ball.

I agree with Laniarty - it depends IMHO on the conditions you cafe. If you already cannot use the VG often as it is, I'd consider roughing up its surface and take over the heavy oiler part of your arsenal. Maybe the ball "below" also need some adjustment, but personally I promote an arsenal that does not overlap too much in itself, so that you cover as much conditions with as little balls as possible.

If you use the VG frequently and it works well as it is, AND if you have the feeling that it is not enough, THEN I'd consider a dedicated heavy oil ball with an appropriate setup - even though it might not see much use. Good choices have already been named, add perhaps a Maxxx Zone, the Siege or an Ogre Particle.

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the virtual where it is at as I get the desired reaction for me when the lanes are a little heavier and I want it to hook at the end. What i need is something thats starts a little sooner and is a little more rolly for heavy oil.
thanks

Mega Friction or a Bounty Hunter then. You could wait and see what the Roto Grip Mutant Cell will be like too.

BH or MF are great choices, the Motive TR2 will handle as much oil as you can put out. That ball is friggin strong. Good luck.

Motive TR2
Global 900 Bounty Hunter
AMF Mega Friction
Elite Red Alien

Those 4 come to mind as more than a VG or the Cell line, if your looking for something that reacts early, the MF and TR2 react in in your back swing, the BH is more skid/snap but with surface any of the 4 above will handle floods.

My VG is pin over ring with the MB slightly out and it does the same as yours on heavy patterns even at 2k.  Maybe, if it was laid out differently the reaction would be different.  A full swing is on it's way and I am going lay it out the same as the VG to see how it compares.

The bounty hunter is only a hair earlier than the vg.. I would suggest the Meag friction or original bounty
