Polished Cell & Oil
« on: October 03, 2008, 09:49:06 AM »
Bought a Cell and currently have it in its box condition. Just in case I don't get on with it how much oil can it handle in a polished state?

I would have got away with it if it was not for those pesky kids (Behind my lane) and those blasted 10 pins.

Mine has been extremely touchy with polish, I had to really take the grit down and use a light coat of polish to get a nice reaction out of it. It now handles Medium+ and is strong for the condition in that state, dull it was rarely usable for me.

The reason I ask is because up until a month ago I was using two donated used balls (Exception and Smokin Inferno) whic was great when the lanes were medium-dry but as soon as there was any oil/carrydown I was in real trouble.

So I bought a cell (Not had a chance to use it yet due to ill health) for oily conditions, but after years of having inconsistent lane conditions, where I bowl have decided to strip and dress a bit closer to when my league bowls. This being the case i'm not sure whether I would be better served polishing the Cell, although saying that I also bought a used Rapid Fire and a T-Road solid which I am having at 600+polish. So I might leave the Cell in its box finish as don't want 2/3 balls doing the same thing as that was causing me trouble before.

Thanks for the help
