Title: Polishing my Cell, should I do it..

I was wondering if anyone had polished there Cell with some Beans sauce or some other polish and what where the results..

Any comments would be appreciated..

Nope but I'd expect more length and harder movement on cleaner backends Jim.

I like it too much at 2000 abralon although going to a reported heavier condition for WI State Doubles and Singles so I'll take it to 1000 abralon for that type of condition.

Haven't tried the Bean's yet (waiting for my bottle to arrive), but I did have my Cell taken to 4000 abralon cause it was burning up it's track way too soon.  I had much better luck with yesterday in practice.

I guess, I don't know why so many would want a Cell polished.  I'd try an Illusion or another ball for that condition.  Figure the Cell was designed by Hank for a rolly arcing ball for medium-heavy conditions.  But, that's just me.

Lots of reasons.  Take advantage of the cover which is probably the biggest reason.  Take advantage of the core with different MB placements for fine tuning reaction.  Since it's a solid, it will still be stronger and smoother than an Illusion.  

I have both of mine polished since I just wasn't encountering enough oil to use them box.  Much better reaction.  Ball still doesn't really flip off the dry as much as an Illusion or Mystic although I am getting more angle.  Still has that great read and continuation that's making it so successful.

I hit my Cell(layout in profile) with some Brunswick High Gloss(over box finish), as 2000 was way, way too early on the local lane conditions(medium-to-light volume, 39 feet). With this prep, it works very well on the fresh conditions, and is still usable on 2nd shift, but I have to move deeper than I like(left of 20 at the arrows), but this ball just does not quit. I haven't found dry enough conditions to make it stop, it just keeps on driving.

Rolly and archy is definetly not my Cell. A 4 x 4 layout, box finish, the ball make a hard move in the midlane, and continues. It is not a snap, but a huge move of the break. This ball has been too strong for most shots around my area.

My 6 in pin cell has some polish. I use it when I have to get a little deeper and a little longer than my 4.5 in under the bridge cell. Ball still has a nice roll and continuation it just happens a little later and on slightly drier midlanes than my stonger one.

I think it has to do with some people (like myself) buying one and not really enjoying the reaction they have seen on their league conditions.  I was contemplating changing the surface as well, but I have seen what this ball can do for me when i find the right match up, so I won't change it.

Some people can't afford to buy a lot of equipment, so they buy the Cell then play around with the cover to get it to work for them...that would be my guess.

Better ball for me polished right over box with brunswick high gloss, go for it if it does not work just go back to 2k.

Many people dont by the proper ball for their house conditions, or they buy the ball for the nationals and cannot use it at home. Case in point, I threw
my Cell in a county tournament yesterday, had 5 rails ! This was too much ball for that shot. We often have customers come in and ask for the most aggressive equipment, never hardly the opposite. I ended up with almost 500 for the last two with my Sure Fire. I got a "brain cramp" on hooking, instead of letting the lane do the work. I could have polished my Cell, and used it, but you have to know when to keep it in the bag !

Mine still covers medium-heavy with polish, remember i am up the boards style with no tilt so balls that grip too early for me are going left off my hand. Usually polish is my enemy but it worked perfectly on this ball, most of the time 2k and 4k no polish is better.

Scott, good point there as well lol.  I can tell you it has to do with all the hype, and seeing the pros throw it.  People were thinking wow I can be good too with this ball in my hand lol.  One thing I have read and seen from 90% of the people that bought one is that the carry is great, so if they buy the wrong ball for their condition, can change the cover for a better look, and get that great carry...no loss in my book.  However, you're right, doesn't make much sense to buy something like that for a light pattern.

I bought it completely expecting not to be able to use it on my Monday night league.  I knew it would be better suited for Friday nights where there is more oil, and I was wrong there as well.

Like I said earlier, it is great when the conditions are right (tournaments) so I am glad to have bought it.  Maybe it will stay at home on league nights, but not even a thought of leaving it home on tournament Saturday

Knew my pin down OOB condition was going to be used less on THS shots. My friday night league has a swamp 7 to 7 and sahara desert 7 out. I use it there going straighter to even out the over under and negate carry down. When backends are flying use stacked leverage SD73 inside and stay away from dry outside. When I catch a pair with some practice on it or everone is using their ebos and sucking oil up in buckets I use the pin up for delay and hit.Pin up also works good and medium ths to control over/under and big back ends.
