Title: Retro Dual???
Post by: Goof1073 on April 13, 2004, 08:37:54 PM
There is a 16lb Roto-Grip Retro Dual up on Ebay right now...what in the world is this ball?  I looked on BBR's and they had info on a Retro Max, but no Dual.  It has got to ge an overseas release, but I can't find any information on it.

Jeff, et. all...any ideas?

Wow, for once, Jeff is wrong on a Roto ball LOL.

I've seen a few of these in my area.  It's actually a two toned solid reactive looking piece with mica.  From what I was told by the owner, it's supposed to provide the "best qualities" of both the Red Retro and Blue Retro.  Gets good length for a solid ball(also has a mica additive in it) and has a strong backend.  Not flippy like the blue, but strong like the Solid Red, just alot later.  It fits in between the retro blue and red.  I think it was a very limited run.  I think a pro shop in our area still has one in 14 or 16lb.  Whenever I get back home I can check.  It only like $140 too which isn't bad at all.

That's funny, all of the Dual Retros I've seen(and I've seen at least 5) come out of the box a DULL/Matter blue/red multi-color swirl with a good load of Mica in it.  What's wrong with the ones that were sent to the shop that carries them around here?  They might have the same cover as the Blue retro chemically but out of box cover prep and surface texture are nowhere near the same.
