Rogue Cell Drilling Layout
« on: October 09, 2009, 10:29:41 AM »
Hey all.  I have a good freind who was injured in Iraq and because of his injuries can no longer bowl.  He gave me his Rogue Cell which has about 30 games on it.  I plan on plugging it and redrilling it but here comes the question.  I already have a Rogue Cell with a somewhat weak drilling 45x4x30 that I use to play a tight inside line, stand 32 roll it up 16 w/ breakpoint around 12.  I am looking for something that I can use to maximize hook on the second Rogue.  This will be on a 40' typical house shot.  My rev rate is around 300, if anything a little bit under, with a ball speed around 18mph.  I have always drilled using dual angle so if you could give me some layout ideas in that format it would be great.  Thanks.

first off, your current rogue has a strong layout on it.  you should drill the second rogue up with a weaker drill.  then take your current rogue down to 1000 or 500 surface to attack oily-er conditions.

The strongest layout I have found for myself is 70*x5"x45* (45* up to 60*).  This layout gives me a strong mid lane read and a very strong but arcing backend.

my Rogue is 70* x 4 1/2" x 70*, and it is pretty good at reading the midlane, and has a nice strong roll to it.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.  I have a cell pearl with a 70x4x60 on it so I'm wondering if I give my Rogue the same layout if I will notice much difference.  What do you think?

FrontTwelv, I took my first Rogue and put a 1000 abralon pad on it and it made a tremendous difference.  It took some time getting used to but I can play a deep inside line I haven't been able to play before.  Thanks for the help.

I dont think you will notice much difference with the same layout on both balls.  But if you went with the 70x5x45 with a weight hole down your val, you should notice a big difference.  When I layed mine out, instead of the dual angle, I did it similar to a modified RICO.  I put the pin just below my bridge and CG and MB is on a 45* angle (in the thumb quadrant) between the mid-line and center-line with the weight hole in the MB.
