Roto Dream Arsenal
« on: June 19, 2006, 05:47:03 PM »
Hey all, I've been looking into RotoGrip a lot and from what I see and hear, I think Im gonna make this brand my own.  I was looking through the different options, and figured out a 4 ball arsenal that may be good enough to have me set for a while..what do you guys think of this?

Heavy: Epic Battle
Medium/Heavy: Epic Saga
Medium/Light: Horizon
Light: Venus
Spare: Blue Dot (sorry bout that one)

What do you guys think of that arsenal?  Im hoping to have this accomplished by the end of the year due to lack of funds.  If anyone wants to dontate or sell for dirt cheap a 15lb in any of these I'd be happy to take it off your hands.

I have an second drill 15lb SSSE that would fit the medium slot nicely.  Selling for $40 shipped.  PM me if interested.

It looks good though you may want to skip either the Epic Saga or Horizon and  add a Mercury instead for dry lane stuff. The Epic Saga and Horizon are probably going to be fairly similar, with the Epic Saga being just a bit more aggressive. One of those would handle the medium. Then you could also add an Epic for the heavy/medium area.

Couldn't one of you guys tell the guy who's been bowling since March he doesn't need a four ball arsenal??    Noy, what are you doing?  IF YOU KEEP BUYING BALLS AT THIS POINT YOU WILL HURT YOUR GAME MORE THAN HELP IT!  You've got all you NEED in the Agent and the Doom, if you want an RG ball, pick up the Spare Tire.

HAHA, splendorlex, I had a feeling that you would see this, theres no hiding from you, haha.  Anyways, the house I bowl at has seperate lanes where you can practice whatever sport shot they lay down.  Id much rather play on those with an arsenal rather than see my Agent squirt down the lane and come up soft.

Now splendor, if you dont mind, id much appreciate if you stopped fillin my threads with that advice and just give an answer to whatever question i may have.  Ive done the coaching, and yes it has helped me a lot, but Im a fast learner.

Heavy: Epic Battle
Medium/Heavy: Epic Saga
Medium/Light: Horizon
Light: Venus

You would find yourself in some trouble if you hit some dry lanes. All of the balls you have listed are VERY strong. How about this:

Heavy: Battle
Mediums: Saga
Medium/Light: Venus
Light(er): Saturn

Also, in response to this post: "IF YOU KEEP BUYING BALLS AT THIS POINT YOU WILL HURT YOUR GAME MORE THAN HELP IT!" I completely disagree. I had people tell me the same stuff when I was starting out, and it HURT my game instead of helping it. This game is no where near what it was long ago. The earlier that a person can learn about different cores/covers/drilling and their influence to ball reaction to different lane conditions, the better off they will be.

Ok Noy, last time and I'll stay out of your thread.  With your inconsistent game you have now, having different balls to change you can confuse you and mask your real problems.  If you get a bad reaction from a bad shot, and don't quite realize you made a bad shot, then switch to a ball that corrects the problem like training wheels, you haven't learned anything.  Spend all the money you would on new balls on a spare ball and coaching.

Roto-Mat, thanks for the advice...I thought the arsenal I picked out was a little strong.

And thanks for agreeing with me on the whole arsenal tip.  I agree that someone should be exposed to as many aspects of the game (or any game for that matter) as possible.

Splendorlex, I know enough when I make a bad shot and how to adjust to make the shot work for me.  But I also know that when my Agent is hooking out of the house or going straight for the 7 pin on a down and in shot that a different ball is in need.  Believe me, when conditions are right, I can score 30 pins over my current average, but when they're flooded (as they have been lately) and my strongest ball doesnt make more than a 2 board move, or hardly flips over, my equipment just doesnt match up to the heavy conditions.

RedBird, I dont know if that was a sarcastic comment or not, but I never said I was a great bowler.  I just know when different equipment is needed.  And I plan on posting one soon for more help on my game.

i wasn't being sarcastic about it, i was sayin i would like to see you bowl because you might not need to buy all new equipment, since you are stuck on buyin new stuff and i can't blame you because i was doing exactly what you were doing last year but eventually you'll end spending way too much money and just working with the stuff you got an i jus wanna see you bowl.

RedBird and I just come from experience, because we made the mistake of going equipment happy.

Splend just leave it alone, you can only help so many people and if they don't want to take advice, it's their God-given right not to take it, but i will tell you this, before you go happy go lucky attempting to get on a sport shot you should make sure you have a house shot down. You're too inconsistent to be trying to buy everything that rolls. learn "EXACTLY" what your Agent and Doom does on any give condition before getting new stuff.

Well, all I have to say is let the man buy what he wants to...

and...I got the "Epic" about 4 weeks ago and I am in love with that ball and infact I think that Roto-Grip is soooo good that just yesterday I ordered the
"Epic-Battle"

so now I have what I need for a great one-two punch, and let me tell ya, this Roto-Grip gear is freaking great stuff.

Later everyone and good Luck with your bowling NOY and remember the most important part of bowling is to have fun!
