Title: Roto grip hustle
Post by: michael.willis9 on March 14, 2017, 08:55:19 PM
Anybody have one of these. My wife wanted to get into bowling because my son and I bowl so much. She picked out a rotogrip hustle because the color combo.

Anybody had positive experiences with this ball? She's also gonna be trying finger tip too

It's a lot of ball for the price and HP1 positioning. Should be a nice starter piece for your wife.

Just purchased one last week. Very good ball for the price.

If you don't mind me asking, what style of bowler are you (mph, rev rate) and what kind of reaction do you get?  I'm considering this ball for dry lanes or when a THS pattern is broken down.  Also which Hustle do you have?

I love my Hustle PRO on drier lanes or when the shot has broken down. I can also play a little straighter on a THS if I want to as well. I am a medium rev right hander that throws about 15.5-16 mph. It really is my go to ball on drier conditions.

Thanks.  That's what I was hoping to hear.  Out of the 3 Hustle choices I was leaning towards the PRO.  Now if I buy this ball hopefully what works for you, works for me as well.

Are there a lot of differences between all the different hustles?

There is between the SAY and PRO. The latter is a bit more smooth overall and probably gives a better look if the intent is to add surface. Not sure about the RIG and POW (those two are the exact same ball though just different colors).

Same ball? Don't they have different covers?

No, the RIG and the POW both use the Pumped pearl coverstock. I meant I'm not sure what the difference is between them and the PRO and SAY. Haven't had the chance to see one yet and there hasn't been much fanfare about them.

I'm a left handed Stroker/Tweener. Ball speed about 16 mph, with a rev rate of about 310-315. I purchased the S/A/Y which is the hybrid verson. Pin up and CG right under my fingers. So it goes long, and is fairly smooth on the back.

The PRO is two parts pearl and one part solid, while the SAY is two parts solid and one part pearl. Hope this helps a little.

I'm pretty sure you have that backwards. The PRO is definitely the smoothest of the 4

I knew I would probably mess that up. LOL...It is definitely a smooth ball.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the SAY and PRO. Just not the RIG and POW. You would think the latter two might be the most skid/flip or strongest off the spot but I don't want to state that without knowing anything about them firsthand.

I have a pro. Out of box finish was a bit squirty to me. From reading here, decided to hit it with 2000 pad. Much better reaction now. Smooth but drives hard through the pins. A lot happier with it now than I was the first couple weeks of throwing it.

From what I've seen, the POW is flippier than the RIG.

I have seen the pro on our harsh wet dry.  It is quite smooth in the softer right handed female throwers hand.

I am not sure how versatile.
