Title: Roto Grip Hy-Wire and Storm IQ Tour Fusion
Post by: DCNetBoy on May 12, 2016, 11:10:55 AM
Storm and Roto Grip fans,

Simply put, I have been looking at the Roto Grip Hy-Wire as a future purchase.  However, I am wondering if the Hy-Wire would overlap the usage of an IQ Tour Fusion as a benchmark ball on a medium condition.

To the person who has both balls, does your Fusion compete with your Hy-Wire for time on the lanes?  Or, in your opinion, are they pretty much the same ball because of their hybrid coverstocks?  Which one is stronger for you, or which one handles the medium to dry better?

For me, the Fusion is my benchmark ball.  The Hy-Wire reminds me of that ball, but with different colors for the "pearl".  Any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Peace -  8)

The hy-wire should have way more on the backend.

They would not overlap for me but be two different bench mark reactions for medium oil.

The !Q fusion would provide much more control-- for those Lanes/shots with built in hook..

The hy-wire may provide the backend pop you need to knock the 10 out when the fusion is too lazy..

Similar but different.

They would be similar to me based on...

They are symmetrical
They are polished
The core forces me to play both up the boards...

Something like a hyroad/rocket allows me to get deeper and open up the shot..

The Respect is absolutely money. Doubt you need two balls for that same concept.

Much "respect" to you guys for the suggestions.

However, I am a true Storm / Roto fan.  I own a few Radical Balls too, but I generally like my balls to smell good.  LOL!

Seriously, thank you for the suggestions and the insight.  I just needed to know if you guys saw any overlap between the two.  According to your replies, getting the Hy-Wire could be a safe purchase.

With the Snap Lock coming next month, I will have to seriously consider putting my Storm Byte out to pasture, too.  LOL.  (It never ends...)  Thanks again!

Peace!

So I walk into the pro shop to check out and possibly buy the Hy-Wire.  My short list was down to the Hy-Wire and the Eternal Cell.  I wanted a ball that would help to serve as a benchmark along with my IQ Fusion.

To my surprise, when I started looking at the balls on the rack, I saw a sale price on some of the Roto's that I just COULD NOT refuse.  The Eternal was on sale for less than a hundred bucks!  By one dollar.  Of course, the new Hy-Wire was not on sale.  LOL!  OMG!  Talk about timing.

Well needless to say, but I walked out of there with a brand new Eternal Cell and I praise God for the timing.

Although a review is pending because I have only used it once, it was just what I was looking for in a ball.  The ball gets down the lane with ease and hits like a tank.

Pin down below the ring with the mass bias swung out to the VAL, and a weight hole in the P3 zone to keep it legal.  In a word, the Eternal is "Awesome".

Eternal life, Eternal joy...!  HE's my Friend!   :D
Jesus is!  Not the ball.  LOL!!   8)

Peace!
