Roto Grip Hyped Solid Review
« on: August 08, 2022, 06:14:42 PM »
The Hyped Solid is the newest ball in the HP2 line for Roto Grip. This ball is going to be a step above the hustles and burners but a step below the idols and Wolverine dark moss. What I found with this ball is its going to be a smooth shape and be similar to an IQ Tour based on the diff. This ball is going to give me moderate length and a smooth transition off the spot. If you have a heavier hand or slower ball speed this is going to be a good ball to through on house shots and medium light patterns. This ball is a great bang for your buck whether you are somewhat new to bowling or an experienced league bowler.

The Hyped line from Roto Grip has been sneaky good in my opinion since they have been out. I was super impressed with the Hyped Hybrid last year, it was probably the best ball for its price point and the Hyped Pearl was pretty good was well. Now that we have the Hyped Solid we can see them handle a little more oil. I drilled mine 5.5 x 5 x 5 because I actually wanted to use this ball in league to help me later in the night when the lanes start to get a little cliffed. After throwing this ball it defiantly does what I intended it to do. Got down the lane with ease because of the pin down drilling but because of the solid cover stock didn’t overreact in the dry. I can totally see if this ball was drilled pin up and a little stronger it would be a lot closer to what I saw in the Hyped Hybrid but just a little smoother. If you are looking for a ball for league or some medium to short sport pattern look no farther than the Hyped Solid !

Balls Specs
Hyped Solid
Coverstock: 3000 VTC Solid
Core: Hyped Core
Color: Wine/Berry/Magenta

Review:
First, I want to point out the color of this ball. The colors on this ball really stand out greatly on the lanes. Secondly, I want to say that once again this ball outperforms it’s price point. It has plenty of teeth to be first out of the bag when coming in for league while not being overly strong when the lanes begin to transition. This ball motion is very smooth rolling and offering a great arcing motion. This ball has already shown its versatility to me and I will continue to keep it in my bag for a long time. Make sure you grab your soon, you’re going to kick yourself later if you don’t!

If you were looking for a little brother to arguably the greatest ball of all time, the IQ Tour, then look no further than the Roto Grip Hyped Solid. The weaker core in the Hyped allows for just alittle more clearance thru the fronts than the IQ Tour solid and gives it just a touch more continuation. I have the same layout on both, 5in pin to PAP and 30 degree back angle, alittle taller pin up over my ring finger. The Hyped Solid is such a good compliment to something like an IQ tour or Phaze2, where if those balls are just too much too early the Hyped will just clean enough to allow you to stay in the same zone. Its definitely less responsive off the friction than its counterparts, the Hyped pearl and hybrid. A great option once again in the Roto Grip HP2 line.

RST X-3 - Ball Specs
Cover Stock: MicroTrax Hybrid Reactive Cover Stock
Finish: 4K Fast
Core: Roto Star Tour Core
RG: 2.53
Differential: 0.053
Intermediate Diff: .016

Review

The RST X-3 is the newest addition to Roto Grips HP4 line of balls. The RST X-3 has the MicroTrax Hybrid cover combined with the Roto Star Tour Core which creates a higher level torque down lane reaction. I tested the RST X-3 on a 44 feet typical house pattern, I was able to play track area and deep inside with great success. The RST X-3 is cleaner than the Gem, because of its 2.53 RG, which gives it more energy on the backend for max carrying power. This is a great ball for all levels of bowlers.
